Delay Menu Transition

Archive: 6 posts

I am having trouble with a complex menu i'm making, and the reason why is that when i press x to select any of my buttons, it swiches to that menu and back several times. it is beacuse if i hold the x button for more than a fraction of a second, the menu's flicker, so what i need is a way to make the output only last a fraction of a second. i was thinking of an and switch that activates a countdown times to a not switch link to the other input of the and gate. i just dont know where to put it. somewhere in the transmitter remote control controlinator or on the individual ones. please help.
i will submit screens if needed

I think all you need to do is put in a counter with it's output on it's reset. This will keep the screens from changing if you happen to hold down X for too long.2011-03-03 21:17:00

i tried that, but as soon as the screens change, a different microchip is activated so a new control scheme and the new one will instantly change screen. i need it so as the microchip is activated, i cant press any button for 0.5 secs or something.2011-03-03 21:29:00

It sounds like a problem with the logic as a whole. OR, when you press x on the first menu, the logic might be too fast and it might register as you pressing X in the next menu as well. To test this theory, is your first choice in the next menu to go back?

I guess post some pics.

I've had that problem too. What you need to do is create a countdown of about 0.5s every time you activate a menu before the controls are activated.2011-03-04 01:57:00
