Music Sequencer Pack?

Archive: 18 posts

How would you feel about a Music Sequencer DLC Pack?

You know, it could include some much needed instruments, like:

Acoustic Guitar

Flute

Bongos

Trumpet

Saxophone

They'd be useful in my mind at least.

Would you like this? If so, what instruments would you like to see?

Who wouldn't want more music? Voted yes of course.
It would be surprising if down the line we did not receive a music pack. While what LBP2 gives you is a lot, you can always add and expand on it.

MM said that they were going to update the music sequencer, so more instruments are a certainty.2011-03-03 21:12:00

I bet there'll be MM Music Pack 2 one day, with more instrumets and couple new songs.
They can't end with MM Music Pack 1.

I would like a violin added for a start and some panpipes not sure about the name of other instruments I'd like but certainly mainly orchestrated instruments but I heard some of these things would be costly but I'd certainly pay well for orchestrated instruments2011-03-07 22:38:00

Funny thought: they should add a Vuvuzela "instrument". 2011-03-08 06:16:00

Yeah, I'd really like there to be more orchestral stuff. It doesn't have to be super high quality samples -- just enough sounds to get us to the point where we can make Super Nintendo level music, classic stuff like Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy VI... there are some good sounds in there now, like the bells and the electric piano, but the acoustic piano is just too dead sounding in most of its range, and the strings are way too synth-y, especially when we already have a bunch of instruments that sound like synth strings. Not to mention, no type of flute, no clarinet, no oboe... There really aren't any orchestral sounding melodic instruments. Midi oboe can actually be a really great melodic instrument. I want to write some plaintive melodies, already

Another thing I'd love to see is the ability to increase the tempo up to 480 bps. Because there's no simple way to do triplets, if you want to write music with triplets layered over other note values, say 3 against 4, you have to make the quarter notes so long that the tempo of 240 is more like a tempo of 60 or 120, which isn't too fast.

Oh yes, definitely.

I need an acoustic guitar really, REALLY bad. x)

We also definitely need a clarinet/orchestral stuff. I mean, the stuff we have currently is great, and I'm decent with the stuff it gives, but it I need a bit larger range with some ACTUAL guitars. Maybe a new drum too? 8-bit is great, but I wish I could get something that didn't sound weird with most notes. Most of the drums are hardcore rock things too. Not even close to what I need for the spooky stuff I'm working on.

P.S. I ♥ Glockenspiels. When used right, they're so spooky.

Here are some things I think should be added to the music sequencer:
-Changable time signature: I don't really need it but I know some people would
-Movable repeats: I would like to make music that plays to then end, then loops endlessly at the desired place, instead of going back to the beginning
-Staccatos and slurs: I could easily find a use for those
-Triplets, and really short notes like 32nds
-The ability to select a bunch of notes at once: It's really annoying to move all the notes up an octave
-And some other things that I can't think of

Yeah, it's pretty much a given. As to the specifics...... We don't know.

OOOoooooooooo.........Maybe a didgeridoo.

CHORUS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT!!! We need a chorus sound. So we can make cult levels and emo level.

Also, it REALLY depends on what we get in one of these packs. Like just 5 won't do it. That would be horrible. Plus, some new music would be nice.

Honestly, I'd rather more option on effects and such over the instruments we already have. Like cutoff, gain, tone, release ect. You could emulate anything you wanted after a little playing around.

bloody hell, it was buried in an interview somewhere. he just said that they had plans to bring more stuff to the music sequencer and 'mood' music. (can't remember what he called them) but it was something to do with music you could add to your levels for atmospheric effects.
