sce staff meeting leak

Price Cut In March: If Sony were expecting to shift a load of console before Christmas, chances are that won?t be the case now - David Reeves confirmed that the PS3 will be getting more competitive on price from March 2009 onwards. Killzone 2 bundle, then?

PS3 Beating 360 In Europe: Contrary to what Microsoft are saying, Reeves also claimed that the PS3 has a bigger install base than the 360 in Europe, and the gap will increase during 2009. Apparently SCEE generates more profit than SCEA and SCEJ, although we?re not entirely sure how.

PSN Growing: Sony will be investing much more on the PSN in the future, having generated ?150m in 2008. Lots of Sony own-label Blu-Ray movies will also be expanded with online content.

LittleBIGPlanet and MotorStorm Coming To PSP: We?ve known this for a while, but apparently according to the leaked information Media Molecule have been working on their PSP port for four months. Footage was shown, but as it was such an early build Alex Evans wasn?t yet prepared to show it himself. ?It looked good, obviously not PS3 good, but missing the level of detail that you get in a final release? says the source of the leak.

Uncharted 2: Attendees were shown a 30 second clip, apparently showing Drake in the midst of Aztec ruins. The game apparently looks the same as Uncharted 1, which is fine by us.

KillZone 2: Staff were shown the introduction to the game, showing a character from the first trailer and a Helghan leader.

God Of War 3: Yes, it's still coming. The section shown was apparently so good that the source of the leak couldn?t tell whether it was CGI or not. The trailer showed Kratos fighting lots of skeletons and other creatures, before riding an Eagle and then looking up to what is presumed to be Mount Olympus.

I wonder if it's legit...

Anyway, motorstorm and LBP on PSP sound great! May even have to buy a new PSP then.

Uncharted Two means the most to me (LBP on PSP doesn't count because I have no plans to get a PSP).

If true, then that's cool- I liked the first one, hopefully the second will be good too.

If it's all true, sounds fantastic. I'm really happy with the direction Sony is headed. All about content with them. Just hope that things can keep coming together.2008-11-24 01:10:00

Because they charge more for EVERYTHING when put on an equivalent price scale. So the extra money goes to Sony.

That said, more confirmation of LBP PSP and Motorstorm PSP is making me consider re-buying my PSP. Again.

LOL, shame SCEE can't live up to standards then eh? Maybe they should pull their freakin socks up.

Would we expect anything less from Sony? Of course not...

http://www.ps3fanboy.com/2008/11/24/sony-calls-2009-corporate-plans-info-leak-a-rumor/

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe responded back to Eurogamer who got in touch regarding a certain D+Pad article which supposedly outlines SCEE's strategy for 2009. The company communicated that the information in the article was only "rumor and speculation." D+Pad's source claims to have attended a Sony Computer Entertainment Staff Annual Briefing which was held this past Saturday in London.

The rumored content suggests that Sony is making plans for a PS3 price cut in March 2009. Also of note, PSP versions of key PS3 titles such as LittleBigPlanet and MotorStorm were said to be shown at the briefing. Even better still, Uncharted 2 and God of War III were also apparently shown with U2 looking much like the first Uncharted and GoW3 just amazing the Hades out of the informant. Noting that reliable David Jaffe also recently saw GoW3 footage and talked a bit about it, then perhaps there might be some merit to these rumors after all.

Well, it certainly seems legit enough. It all sounds good to me. And yeah, fairly typical Sony comeback.

Nice to see Sony really being gung-ho about upping their gaming ante. Especially the PSN part. That'll be nice.

And some other interesting info that was apparently leaked from a recent Sony conference:

They wear mittens.
Now in my sig LOL

It would be interesting how they manage to do LBP on PSP. They would have to cut back the controls to the very basics and the create mode may be a bit less....awesome.

LBP on the PSP system could definitely work.
I just hope the PS3 and PSP version share content.
Like levels made on the PS3 and published can be accessed on the PSP version.

I'm not sure if that would work. Perhaps the opposite. It seems that the PSP version will not be as detailed as the PS3 version. So basically, the PSP version wouldn't be able to support all of the detail of the PS3 version. That logic makes sense, doesn't it?

Oh, yeah, sure! I think that the levels made in the PSP version will be able to be tranferred to the PS3 version, but not the other way around.

I'm pretty sure there will be some type of level transfer between the two systems but to entirely re-produce the entire level creation interface from LBP to the Playstation Portable will be a near impossible if not impossible feat.2008-11-27 10:08:00
