Cave of Treachery

Hey guys, I'm excited to finally present my level. I have been working on it nearly every day since the game came out. This level is all about atmosphere, aesthetics, and gameplay. Its a true platformer, just with the usual LBP twist.

I really want this level to get noticed, I put about 50 hours into making it, and have play tested it countless times. So if you try it I will definitely play your level, THANKS! <3

Well, good job really enjoined playing it

liked the dark atmosphere, the whole time it somehow felt like i was in danger (especially as i thought i reached the end )
good mechanics also, fitting music.
It was a bit to dark at some points though, i couldnt really see where to continue. In one section, i jumped on a bounce pad and could see the background (if i remember correct, its green?). Or maybe it was just a graphic bug

so i really liked it, nice level
would be great if you would go for mine (see signature)

Ok, I loved this but I got stuck and then couldn't complete.
At the end when you can see the scoreboard, you have to go up. Once you go up, if you die in there, you are reset to below that area but the way in is closed, so you are stuck.

Also, the ball of fire doesn't really chase you until well after you run away.

Otherwise, very good job!

Oh man! Thanks so much I will definitely fix that! And yeah I kept tweaking the rock, I will make the better too.
Please try it again once I update it, after that is some of the best stuff!

This was a fun platformer with a nice style. I did enjoy the slightly sadistic bonus areas and the part where it taunted you about taking the easy way out. Now, I didn't realize at first I was taking the easy way out, but the speech blurb convinced me to turn around and jump down that pit! Some minor points:

-- The camera in the area near the beginning where you are jumping over the rolling fire was a bit awkward. A more direct shot would make it easier.

-- A few times I came across what I thought was a new checkpoint, but it was already lit up. A bit weird if that was the case -- makes you question if you're going the right way. Do you have player sensor on some of those that are really far away or something?

-- Can you only attempt the 2nd bonus area once? It seemed like after I died I was locked out, but it wasn't obvious that it was closed off if that was the case. Didn't seem like I could get back to it after spawning the checkpoint to its right.

-- Strange that you started off using speech bubbles but changed to subtitles half way through. I know its just exposition for exposition's sake in a straight forward platformer like this, but it makes it hard to tell who's supposed to be talking. Some of the language was a bit inconsistent. I think it told you to get "on" the barrel instead of in it; little stuff like that.

-- Might want to try and make your level description a bit more...descriptive. "Some atmosphere"? What kind? Not sure you need the word "through" after the word "traverse" (I know, I'm that guy that always corrects everyone's grammar...). And while I know what you're going for, the phrase "classic platforming", along with the 8-bit looking level logo made me think it was going to be REALLY classic. Like maybe Bunchy's Adventure (http://lbp.me/v/xmf8gx) classic. Maybe upload some screenshots taken in your level.

All minor suggestions. Well done; enjoyable level.

Hmm, great feedback Roo, many things I hadn't considered. I'm glad you liked it!

Yes, I had some checkpoints light up ahead of time to avoid the player getting stuck if they died.
and yes again, you can only attempt the second bonus bounce once if you die Guess I should clarify that somehow.
Also I agree, I didn't put much thought into the description.
