Fast Follower

Title explains the basics of it. I want a piece of hologram to follow the player precisely. The problem is, setting a follower won't work, as in parts of my level the player moves faster than the follower's max speed. I want it to basically stay locked on at all times. Well, if there's something on that holo then maybe another way would be to make the level run on sackbots and have what you need on the sackbot? I certainly don't know how to make a follower go faster than max speed. Not sure that is possible.2011-03-02 18:15:00

if you havent already then you need to put the acceleration of the follower up, otherwise it will take too long for the follower to catch you up.

if that doestn work then you should consider making the player move a bit slower...

What I wanted was for a piece of holo to follow the player as they go through the level, mainly for an artistic purpose, and there are obstacles and areas where the player moves quickly. I suppose sackbots would work, but that would mean no grappling hook, which my level uses quite a bit. I guess I'll have to think of something else.

The follower always appears to lag imo. It takes a moment for it to sense it is out of range, so even at max speed, it will not stay directly above the target if it is moving at all. Probably just how the follower works though, since I haven't been able to fix it.2011-03-03 16:14:00
