Fringe

Wow.

Does anyone watch this?

I've watched the last 2 episodes of the season, and they're amazing.

It's basically a FBI agent, An ex mental institutee and his son, who's an ex criminal, trying to discover the roots behind strange phenomenoms. These phenomenons aren't natural, there's always someone behind them, but it's really fun to watch..

Seriously, watch it.. It might be a bit "Uhh, what?" at first, but once you get the characters, you'll love it. Not to mention that the guy who plays Dr. Bishop (The mental guy) plays it excellently..

I love Fringe ever since they start showing the crazy commericals for it before the pilot...

the first few were good, dropped down in the middle, then it started going good again.

Although with the trailers saying "Children have been reported with strange mental abilities" (or something like that) and then the Home Security guy saying "its starting", I expected something more on the lines of superpowers than the crazy but plausable science, I still love it though.

Fringe is great, people say its similair to The X files, but i never watched it, so this type of show is new to me. and i LOVE Doctor Bishop. hes the best part about the show, oh and the giant floaty text that shows up in the scenes sometimes.

I can't wait for LOST to start up in january or whenever either!

Extremely. I've actually been meaning to go back and watch the first part of the season again just to make sure I'm fresh on everything. Great show.

They've got episodes 3-14 free on Hulu (http://www.hulu.com/search/Fringe?company=fox&showname=fringe&sort_by=air_date&type=episode). Note that due to advertising and copyright laws, you have to be in the US to view them. That's because they keep it free through advertisements, and there's a lot of issues in doing so in multiple regions. You can still find ways around it (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=watch+hulu+outside+the+us), but they violate international copyright laws and as such, I discourage you from doing so.2009-02-13 04:03:00

I find this peculiar myself. They offer a legal alternative to let people be able to watch shows at their leisure... and then tell everyone outside the U.S. (or anyone whose I.P. happens to not be registered with the major U.S. internet providers) that if they want the same benefits, the only option is through "illegal" means.

I think it's not so much about copyright law as much as it is about licensing. As I understand it, local TV broadcasters in countries outside of the U.S. license the air time from FOX and then pass the channel onto us. I would hazard a guess that I.P. filters were made in order not to undermine the broadcast license (and not to get sued for breach of contract).

It's unfortunate because this undoubtedly has a "positive" effect on piracy when it could have actually curbed it.

On topic : Last episode was completely unexpected. I like that there was more camera time with the cow, lol

first off can someone please move this over to tv shows section and second of all loved the last episode was so great and creepy, but why does Olivia always have to be dressed in black and run by herself after someone every episode i think it's hilarious i watch for it every time, now2009-04-08 20:41:00

Moved at your request.

Great episode last night. And there's definitely nothing wrong with Olivia running after dudes every episode. It's the kind of consistency I can count on in an otherwise chaotic/crazy show. Love the stuff they're doing and hope it sticks around as long as it's good.

I liked the hand-to-hand after the chase (and yes, they like car/foot chases a lot lol), but I found it a shame that the perp died (he died right?) instead of getting caught.

Either he's related or - as my boss hypothesized - perhaps he's The Observer from another point in time...

They have introduced time travel into the series so it's impossible to know at this point exactly what's going on. The show is so great though...

I think he's describing the episode "Ability", which is episode 14. Because of the long hiatus before we got any new episodes I'm starting to forget all the minor plot points.

Maybe I'll read up on the episode summaries on Wikipedia.

Ya, it was strange, but it shows how amazingly talented Walter Bishops actor is, hes SOOO good at being Walter, it makes him so real. He's obviously my favorite character, and I was sad because I thought he was going to die

Also, the monster was a bit disappointing. It was still pretty cool, but not as cool as I thought it would be.

It's going to be the season finale next Tuesday, and it looks like it's going to be awesome.

I might get this series on DVD when it comes out. There's so many minor yet significant scenes that can easily be missed... plus the Canadian broadcasters seem to have terrible hardware/technicians and we miss out on about 20% of the audio every once in a while (resulting in us not hearing parts of the conversations... so annoying!).

Have watched this show from day one and just love it. It's got a great mix of sci-fi goodness, mystery, suspense, gore and plenty of dark humour. Also very interesting characters that you really care about. IMO anyway.

We are on season 2 here and the last 2 episodes of the series are on tonight.

"SPOILER BELOW"

Have just read in the TV magazine that William Bell, the leader of Massive Dynamics and Walter's former partner, finally puts in an appearance in the finale and it's none other than Leonard Nimoy.

Who watched Fringe last night?!

Off to a great start if you ask me...

I had convinced myself at the beginning of the show that they were killing Dunham off and replacing her with that other agent. Truth be told, I got distracted by something and missed exactly how she wound up involved with Fringe after the car accident. I made it through the summer, it was a great premier, and now I'm going to pull my hair out waiting for next week!

During the later part of the 1st season, the episodes started having chronic audio problems here (I think it was a problem with the broadcaster) where I wouldn't be able to hear part of the dialog being spoken. It was really annoying.

At least they seem to have fixed that issue for the 2nd season so far.

I was introduced to Fringe when I ended up in a hospital to treat my anger for the fifth time. I believe my first episode was called "Power Hungry". The episode was about a man who has uncontrollable powers.

Although Fringe reminds me a little bit of X-Files, I still find it enjoyable to watch. In fact, I got it recorded only for the new episodes and I have the entire first season on DVD.

Should be a YouTube video down in the comments if the main video won't play based on your location.

Well, it all depends on what you're looking for and planning. I can say that it's much better looking on my Sony FD Trinitron/WEGA than all of the DVDs I own. Even though I have an SDTV the picture quality was sharp, but I am planning on replacing it with a Sony Bravia or Sharp Aquos in the near future, which also motivated my purchase of the Blu-ray set over the DVD set.

I vaguely recall also that there was a bit more extra content on the Blu-ray set but that's a pretty minor point (though I like having the extra content myself). I have heard that the sound quality is not up to par with other Blu-ray releases, but I'm not an audio nut myself and simply listen through the TV speakers, so this was not a concern for me.

Edit: Oh yes, and the Blu-ray packaging has a holographic cover. At first I thought there were two different covers but it's because the cover changes with the angle you're looking from.

I have one major annoyance though, the 5 discs are a little hard to remove from the case, so I'm always extra careful because it seems like they might break. I'm hoping that with use they will become easier to remove.

I fanned the Fringe page on facebook, the last status update says :

Don't miss an all-new FRINGE, THUR 11/5 at 9/8c, only on FOX!

It looks like the official website didn't get the memo and still thinks it's showing today.

I like it a lot too. Thank god for the crazy professor. If this show had more of a serious approach or tone I don't know if I'd keep watching.2009-11-08 10:40:00

It could use more scenes with the cow though. Seriously, what other show has a named cow as part of the entourage?

I think it's a good mix of serious topics, light-hearted goofery, intrigue and science fiction. I liked how they delved into Broyles' character in the last episode, though I notice from the comments on the facebook page that not everyone liked it for some reason. Broyles rocks!

Just got into this recently as my mate had the whole of season 1 on his HDD. I love it! I've om 3rd ep of season 2 atm and am really enjoying it, though I wasn't too impressed by the first ep of season 2. Unsurprisingly, not enough answers 2009-12-04 19:31:00

Season 2 is really starting to pick up now. I'm definitely looking forward to the next episode, as they're going to be back to the main plot.2009-12-04 19:35:00

Gruesome indeed. Watched most of it with no sound as I had a phone conversation I couldn't get out of. Going to watch it for real tonight!2009-12-04 20:32:00

Unfortunately the audio problems that plagued the broadcast of the 1st season over here seem to have reappeared in the last episode.

I'm definitely going to get this season on BluRay too, but it's kind of annoying when you're watching a show and you miss parts of conversations because the broadcasters can't be bothered to check their signal.

Great show! I've only caught maybe 5 or 6 episodes, but this is definitely one I want to pick up on DVD. Funny... I just moved to Vancouver on Monday and was walking around down in Gas Town and they just happened to be shooting an episode on location there.

Here's some pics.

Hulu is your friend, mate!

yeah I was gonna watch them on Hulu, but it doesn not have season 1. I will just have to start off by watching it on Neflix. I have heard good things about this show. And J.J. Abrams has done great work in tv and movies.
