Some interesting facts about LBPCentral....

Archive: 16 posts

Hey guys. I was just Googling away on my laptop today, because... well, it's boring here.

So, after a while, I decided "Hey, why not just search 'LBPCentral.com'?" So I did. I ended up on a site called Alexa, and I found something about LBPCentral that I didn't know:

It turns out LBPCentral is quite popular, especially in the UK (no surprise there). But what I did find hilarious is what the Audience Snapshot said, which is sadly out of frame.

Based on internet averages, lbpcentral.com is visited more frequently by males who are in the age range 18-24, have no children, received some college education and browse this site from home.

I just couldn't help but laugh my *** off at this! It's so ironic that everybody thinks this site is nothing more than a bunch of kids running around here, when in fact it's overrun by adults, specifically men. I don't know if this is true or not, but if it is:

But if it's not, then looks like there's a LOT of confessing to do people!

True, but then that can land you a lot of trouble if they find out.

Moral of the story: don't lie on the internet, even if everybody else is.

Not quite in that demographic - but pretty much.

It's not really surprising when you think it through though.

LBP is a "creative" game - it attracts a higher than average amount of people who are talented musicians, artists, designers etc - because the game appeals to their strengths.

The LBP community is a kind of weird mix, that outwardly, the game appears "cutesy" and "childish" - but inwardly the game is massively, infinitely complex and a degree in computer science wouldn't hurt.

So it's a mix of annoying kids - who play the levels - and creative adults - who make the levels.
But the kids who are only interested in playing will be less likely to join a community such as LBPC - where-as the creative adults would be more likely, in order to further their craft.

More Canadians than Americans?

I knew it! Barely any of my friends are Americans, but I have like, 25 Canadian friends on PSN.

That's kinda interesting actually.

What surprises me is the fact that the US is on the bottom of those top 5 countries.

So... does that confirm we're the FPS country of the world?

the age range 18-24

Those two aren't mutually exclusive. Most of the 18-24-year-olds I know are still kids. What's sad is when you have a 31-year-old who's still a kid

I don't like it when some people from the Art forums just go on Google to browse for artistic hard working pictures and deciede to put it on LBPC...

Well, I don't mean imagine TheZimInvader,NinjaFerret22,Shadowcrazy and much more of those wonderful artist would imagine to do that! But I did realise that some people do steal peoples hard work!

I'm surprised by the amount of married people that play. Mostly because they have kids. But even then, the parents really get into the game.

TBH, I'm 20. No shame in that. I am actually on my way to becoming a digital animator/game developer/game maker. I am on break after 2 years of college due to some unforeseen circumstances.

Believe it or not, I've learned a lot from this kids' game. lol.

You have demographics, design, gaming elements, and even seeing how players react from this kind of environment.

Here's an interesting thing I learned in a class. Did you know women between the ages of 25-40 are the main people that play Farmville?

AND FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!!!!! WHAT IS WITH ALL THESE DANG PONY AVATARS??????? That's right Moonwire and Inanimacy. I don't know why, but I crack up when I'm looking at a thread and a random pony avatar distracts me. XD It reminds me of Happy Tree Friends. I keep thinking a tree is going to fall on one of those animated avatars of ponies. XD

Yeah, right....

You can get into a lot more trouble by providing real information about you on the internet.
