I'm lucky enough to have some pretty decent Sennheisers (actually, not lucky. I got a job and paid for them myself but it was an attempt to be modest, stop talking Jonny) that I use to pump Radiohead into my ears at the loudest volume I can before it hurts. It calms me down, helps me collect my thoughts, though I quite like a song called Nude. It starts with the lines "Don't get any big ideas, they're not gonna happen", which sets me back a bit What about you? You never said. (:

I don't usually listen to anything, but when I do, it's usually some painfully obscure techno, Danny Elfman, or I just huck that one Ladytron song from create mode temporarily into my level. ...and if I'm listening to anything that isn't on my PS3, I use my Dr. Dre beats, and anything works as inspiration. @jump_button: Your music taste isn't that odd. It's just a bit otakuish... Which isn't super uncommon. If you were listening to Circus Contraption, or Velvet Acid Christ, I think that would more likely constitute as odd. XD

I don't listen to music when I'm thinking of ideas, usually. However, while working on an idea that I've thought about fora while, I will jam to trance, techo, rock, and metal. For rock and metal, I usually like putting on Metallica, Dragonforce, Evanescence, AC/DC, Disturbed, and System of a Down. For techno and trance... well, it's not too much by just one artist, but when I hear something good, I throw it on my playlist. My favorite songs from that playlist have to be Daggmask by Dreamnation, Raver's Fantasy by Tune Up, and It's Killing Me by DJ Toxic. Oh, and I enjoy jamming to the Timesplitters OST too. =P

Oh my. There's so much. But I agree with Jump_butto that it depends on the mood of the level I'm creating. I always listen to the music available in the game, that either fits the type of level I want to try and make so I get in the mood of the level I'm aiming for, or if I haven't decided on music that fits I'll pick some music out from the game that I really like to listen to.

I have a ton of cd's and a 300 disc player, but usually have my XM radio on whatever channel I am in the mood for. When I'm in the mood for something specific, I fire up the cd player.

I love listening to music when I create, I've got a pretty decent sounding stereo that I just plug my iPod into. It definitely depends on what I'm creating but what ever style of music I listen to I'll try to find something that either has lyrics that kinda blend into the music or no lyrics at all. I find when the lyrics of a song are to prominent they stick in my mind and become the only thing I can think about. Also, I dunno about anyone else, but I find that there's always a certain volume that's just loud enough block ambient sounds out of mind but not too loud that the music is constantly on your mind. It just sort of blends in. Maybe I'm just crazy

I have the official lost soundtrack seasons 1-5 on my playstation very ambient and epic, i obtained this cos i played minecraft and thought the official soundtrack sounded so much like that one, - turns out it's really great, no lyrics, just ambient background music and helps me relax and think through complex wiring diagrams.

I usually just listen to different songs in the game, but it's a pain when you have to stand on the ground to keep it going. If I get tired of that I just use the music player. I've got some Jack Johnson and Incubus on my PS3.

I listen to bargroove house music dj sets, mainly because I have some CDs loaded onto my ps3. I also like listening to really chilled out ambient music; moody soundscapes keep me inspired while creating.

In the mood you mean...creating right? if not well, I darken the place up a bit, put candles all over the place, a bottle of soft wine and put some soft music on, maybe some Airsupply. and maybe a bathtub full of bubbles. anywya XD im kidding but the real answer is, " it depends on what your creating" I mean look at this scenario...Imagine if your making a level based on Butterflies, your not gonna listen to rock/metal/screamo while making it right? Imagine if your doing something based on Rambo, something super actiong packed, your not gonna listen to a slow love song or something calming lol. it depends on what your trying to make basicly.

At times, I'll just listen to whatever comes on pandora on my Iphone. But when I'm feeling like a certain song it can really effect what my level ends up like. The overall design, the mood, atmosphere. In anycase, I do love music.

classic 80's rock music. The beatles, black sabbath, judist priest, lynard skynard, deep purple, acdc, foreign, aerosmith, that kind of stuff. Mainly because it's my favorite kind of music, but, then again, i have other songs i like that are different types too, Expecially the stuff from lbp and lbp2, i bought daniel pemberton's album from lbp1 and searched everywhere to find the other songs, eventually i found most. Though, i dont have them anymore, except the album. Which it itself isnt on my ps3. I need to get the lbp2 stuff. Anyway.... yeah. thats the kind of stuff i listen too.

Some of the songs on my Ipod are: By the Sword by Slash and Andrew Stockdale, Colifoniaction, Can't stop, and Dani California by The Red hot Chili Peppers, Still Alive By Glados. Yellow, Viva la Vida, Clocks, and Lovers in Japan by Coldplay, Even Flow by Pearl Jam, Love in an Elevator, Cryin by Aerosmith. And another 800 songs I cant remember, or have the typing space to list.

I listen to anything calm, soulful and jazzy. Nothing too hectic like drum 'n' bass or heavy house/techno as this sort of music makes me drive faster when I'm driving my car and would probabaly disrupt my creative process if I was listening to it in create mode. But it would be good if it made me create faster though.

Mostly anime songs I've heard, many game songs like Okami, and instrumentals of anything. Which reminds me, I have to update my playlists with Sonic Colors OST. Planet Wisp Acts 1,2, and 3 music calms me to the core and makes my mind tick.
