Timing Sackbots' Actions

Archive: 4 posts

To give an idea of what's going on, I have two sequencers atm. Both are hooked up to a selector as output #1 and #2. The last camera on the sequencer #1 triggers the switch in the selector to #2. The goal being the #1 sequencer plays, the end triggers the #2 sequencer, then the end of #2 triggers the start to #3, then #4, so on and so forth.

The issue I am having is that even though the sackbots' behaviour chips in the second sequence are triggered by the #2 sequencer's start (there is a timer on the sequencer hooked to the behavious chip), when I go into play mode, for some reason, they have been triggered during the #1 sequencer's play through. It appears that their actions are completed, and being set on play through once, they stand idly at the end, the player never sees them carry these actions out.

Does anyone know what I am doing wrong or a better way to make it so that a sequencer doesn't play through until the previous one is done? (I would use one sequencer, but the level spans a large space and it's a lot easier to do separate ones. Besides, I need to figure it out at some point, so why not now?)

sequencers usually act like the end of their sequence bar is the 'prone position'. so if you've got a battery at the very end of a sequencer, it's on when you test it, before the sequencer even starts. just leave a single space at the end of a sequencer for anything you don't want to loop.

if you want the sequencers inside each other, put the 2nd sequencer at the end of the 1st, but 1 space from the edge. if you want them outside the sequencer for organizational purposes, put a battery at the end of the sequencer, but 1 space from the edge, to trigger the next.

Thanks, I fixed the problem I had. Realized that since the act behaviour was the only chip on the sackbot circuit it was also the default, and once I added an idle behaviour the bot stopped going prematurely and defaulted to the idle until the act behaviour was triggered.. >_> Silly of me, I know.

The sequencer info helped with a different problem I had, NinjaMicWZ. Thanks ^^
