Moving/rotating objects in a sequencer?
Archive: 5 posts
Is it possible to move and object from one position to the next and have it rotate to its new postion while moving, i know there must be a way to do it but my minds blank atm and im getting confuzzled? i have a sense it will have something to do with follow tags etc, but the object in mind is small and the movement itself is within a small range, its going to be used within a cut scene sequence. Any help would be amazing! Cheers in Advance! | 2011-02-28 14:37:00 Author: Unknown User |
Yeah that should be easy enough. The object in question needs to have some kind of mover. Which one would depend on the circumstances, so you'll need to be a bit more specific in your description. Anyway you just need to add a rotator set to the speed you want and have the same logic that makes your mover go active and stop it at the same time. The rest is just fiddling with the rotator settings to achieve the correct amount of rotation in the distance it travels. | 2011-02-28 15:36:00 Author: Chicago51 Posts: 258 |
Cheers! That makes perfect sense lol, the object in question is a gun that im making a sackbot hold in a cutscene, obviously its force perspective of the camera to acheive it. it looks good with the object still but im wanting the character to load/prep the weapon so the gun is going to move very slightly, which will further enhance the cut... Is there any chance that you can make an object get smaller or bigger through the same route, i cant find anything of that sort within the tools list :/ Its just that in future if i know it can be done then i can figure out what further stuff i can acheive with that in mind... Again thanks for the info Chicago51 | 2011-02-28 22:25:00 Author: Unknown User |
You could always have the odd object destroyed and use an emitter to emit a larger or smaller object by setting up an emitter to simply emit only once and set the lifetime for infinite, hope that helps you a little, that's the best I can suggest | 2011-02-28 22:28:00 Author: Elsa Posts: 164 |
Thanks Elsa, i was thinking that could posibly work, but i cant imagine it looking so smooth when it does, im used to using video editing programs like "After Effects" and such, my biggest enemy in this game is the sequencer lol beacuse im layering things up into sequencer as i would in "After Effects" as its natural to me and then im finding out it doenst quite work out like that haha Im slowly working along my cutscene at the moment tho, just hope it looks as good as i imagined! | 2011-03-01 16:51:00 Author: Unknown User |
