Cant keep doors closed...
Archive: 8 posts
I have a multiLevel elevator and am having trouble with keeping the doors closed when i select floors 2+ floors higher than the one I'm located. Example being: If I'm on floor 1 and select floor 4, the doors will close and the elevator will begin to rise and as it passes floors 2 and 3 the doors quickly open 'n close. I use a follower to go floor to floor, with a seperate tag and follow on for each floor. I use tag sencors for the doors but now see how that logic doesn't work. If anyone can help, please comment, or message me on the PSN: KrayJackson. | 2011-02-28 03:13:00 Author: Unknown User |
Try setting up a tag system with a microchip so that when it lines up perfectly with a tag, it goes to the microchip, does a 1 second timer, and than opens. When not lined up with the tag, it's always closed. Use the same tag on every floor for this. | 2011-02-28 03:18:00 Author: Unknown User |
I just put a timer on but now my problems are that it sets the timer of right away because its sittin next to a tag on whatever floor i'm on. Do I want a seperate chip for each tag? I can't seem to see it all in my head How would it not open quik later. like if the Elevator is goin up from 1 to 3, then hits the tag on 2 and that sets off the timer and the doors in between floors 2 and 3? | 2011-02-28 03:50:00 Author: Unknown User |
Wire the tag sensor to both the timer start/stop input, and the timer reset input. If it's between floors, the timer will not run, and if it arrives at a floor, the timer resets again and starts over. | 2011-02-28 04:30:00 Author: Tygers Posts: 114 |
the timer doesnt reset until it hits the next tag. Therefore the doors stay open until it hits next tag. then resets doors close until timer is done. | 2011-02-28 04:43:00 Author: Unknown User |
That's just the signal for opening the doors, you need something separate for the signal to close the doors. If you just want a open/closed of where the door should be, AND the output from the timer with the tag sensor. | 2011-02-28 04:46:00 Author: Tygers Posts: 114 |
i have it so when i select the fllor it rests the timer. works great! but only when i select floors 2 3 and 4. it wont reset the timer when i select floor 1, even though its conected to the same XOR switch as the other floors. WTF. this is where i get real frustated... | 2011-02-28 04:55:00 Author: Unknown User |
Aside from elevator movement, you need a seperate chip. One to control the toggle on doors open or closed. This can be done by having a battery connected to holding the doors open. Just have a tag that's small and can be lined up. When the battery isn't giving it power, the doors will remain closed. Also, a selector for knowing what floor it's on may help. | 2011-02-28 05:30:00 Author: Unknown User |
