"And" switch

Archive: 11 posts

Might sound like a newb question but I'm trying to know how to make a re-usable "And" switch. Like if i create a door that needs 2 key to open, When i put the second key it opens the door and if i remove one of the 2 key , it close the door.2008-11-23 05:48:00

I don't want to sound like a meanie, but could you please edit your post. Ya know, clean it up a bit? It's a bit hard to understand at the moment, but I'd love to help you once I get the question.

I think the original poster wants two keys to open a door, but for it not to open with no keys or just one key open.

Or maybe he wants a door to half open with one key.

Or... perhaps you need the first key to get the second key that then opens the big door...

Not quite sure. I suspect it's the first option though.

Sorry i wasnt really clear in my first post.
I want do know how to set up a door to open with 2 keys, but if I remove one of the key it close the door.

In programmation language it would look like something like this

loop
if condition1=true AND condition2=true then ...Doors Open!
/endloop

Okay, I get it! This is kind of long to explain, but luckily for me, I wrote a thread on how to do this before!

One moment while I dig up the link...

Edit: Got it! https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=t=4294

Hey Clank, I tryed to understand your topic but I'm more of a visual person so I had a hard time understanding it. I tried what I thought would work and it worked. Here is a few picture, tell me if it's what u mean in your topic.

I made a little level just to see what is needed. Basically, if the red square goes in the appropriate place. It will extend there linked piston.

On this one the first key is in place represented with the green switch. The green piston extend.

On this one, the second key is in place represented with the yellow switch. The yellow piston extend. Since both piston are extend, the blue key(on the yellow piston) unlock the contact and release the door piston on the right.

Most important, anything you remove one or the other red block. its gonna close there piston and by the same time CLOSE THE DOOR! That's it

Also called a "AND" in programming

And that would me a "OR" switch

If the first key is in or the second key is in there slot, it will open the door.

I'm more a visual person too. That picture makes a lot more sense to me as I can reverse engineer it in my head. It also saves me having to boot up LBP and go through things slowly... but that's just me. 2008-11-24 12:41:00
