Journey To Mysterious Mountain (Screens and Video coming soon)

This is really a two part, I have completely re-worked my original level The Wizard of Mysterious mountain, and added this linked prequel. Play the prequel and you will auto start the wizard level once finished.

I took a lot of your advice on the original and made it prettier and added this level to give some story elements to it.

Wow that was pretty epic! I loved all the little hidden treasures. Such a minor thing, but it makes you want to pay closer attention to the level and find them all. The stlye was very nice and consistent. Most of the puzzles were clear, fun and worked well, too.

I always try to find something constructive to say (even on the good levels, like this one), so here goes:
I had a little trouble with the first golden idol you find. It was pretty tough to get it up the ramp. Maybe lower its friction a little, or make the ramp not so steep. It was still doable, but I had to try a few times to get it moving, and then only while mashing away on X to really pull.

The 3-idol section had a bit of the same issue, but the ramps weren't as high, and the grabinator helped, so not as big a deal.I did accidentally end up with the gold idol in the back layer, instead of the front. I though I had broken the puzzle, until I figured out a way to get it into the front again. Not sure if that's so much a bug in the level, or the a glitch in the game itself.

The one other thing I noticed was the part with the series of blocks coming out of the wall, that you need to jump up and then grab the ceiling. The grab-ability of the ceiling wasn't that apparent. I grabbed it as kind of a wild guess after a few tries and dies. Maybe some decorations to make it more notifiable?

That's about all I could find to make notes on. I played it on through to the main level too, which was also a blast. Well done!

I'll echo what Hazzmax said about the first idol. It gets stuck very easily to the point where I wondered if I was even on the right track trying to pull it up there. I don't remember having any other problems with the level.

For the three idol part, I like the how the text "Don't throw the idols" is actually a clue since it's easier to just pull them You may or may not have intended that. All in all you've done a great job! And the Wizard part was even better; I think I already left a comment on it.

I also like the artistic style. Square-angled trees? Sure, why not. It's different.

Feedback time (quick, huh? )

Overall, I liked the level even though it's far from perfect. Some custom monsters and puzzles which were really enjoyable. Plus it was actually pretty long, although how much of that is me taking ages to put an idol in its place, I don't know.

However, I'm not really a fan of how it looks. Everything is so simple and even ugly at times. The addition of only a handful of extra materials at each section would have made a huge improvement. I did like the trees though, they were kinda funky. Also I died in this level, like a lot, but that was probably me just trying to be skillful and do it all quickly. (:

It was really fun though all in all, reminded me a little of the old school karate games I used to play in the arcade when I was a young.

I loved the dragon part, and the I'll likely play again.

Played the leves and was fun Likes the 2nd part "event" .. i wished more levels like that part were avaiable
There was just 1 problem.. at start of 2nd part when we kill that mobs .. if we jump to the tree we get stucked and cant get out.. only exploding.. rest is ok

Thanks... Found what you were talking about and I fixed it (or I think I fixed it)... I think people are going to die enough on that level without making them pop

great level i really like it the idea is good and is very original
is a little hard to see inside the cave, i diead in the part where i have to climb a stone stairs and the steps appears and disappear from the walls well i couldn't reach the end and diead several times

Interesting levels! As people have mentioned above, any sections involving the idols could be made a lot less tedious as moving them around is a pain.
The 'duplicate you' is a nice idea, if a little fiddly at times making sure he's in the right layer for switches as he tended to jump to another layer when near a switch.
The bit where you have to jump over the gas to call down a lift so the duplicate could get across, the lift kept killing the duplicate, causing me to die.
Also the bit when you throw the skulls into the pit, it wasn't obvious that anything had happened until i went back looking to see if i'd missed something and noticed the duplicate section had opened up again.
You're able to jump over the item cancelling bits, not a big issue really but if you want to remove grapples/grabinators you may want to stop people from doing that.
All the custom stuff was pretty cool though, the idols just annoyed me!

Oh also i love the gardens theme music, so nice choice at the start I made a whole level for that if you want to F4F it.

I can say that up to that point, good level, for platforming. Normal platforming is hard to review because its almost impossible to create a bad one, i mean I really don't know what to say about your level other than I liked it, and also would like to know how to get past that part in my pic there, but yea good job, very detailed.

This isafter i moved the statue upthe incline, I jumped back up and had no idea what to do. people are talking about parts of the level I didn't see so i know i'm the dumb one here.. but what do i do?

Not sure what happened here, the idol should have opened the door. I am in the process of re-working the idol stuff to make it easier and maybe a bit more than just drag it from point a to point b.

hi you! i got some helpfull contructive feedback for you!
played your level and liked it ^^ just a few things to say:

-if you build tree's like that in a combi with the grappling hook. hm... try to build them that you can swing where you gram them! not DANG! on the tree's stook
- grappling hook on gras thats annoying, place a tool on the gras and tweek it to not grabbable. so it goes away
- you can kill this enemies with just running behind or in front of them
- make the grappling hook not shut down able, its a easy tweek ( ah now i know why you made it removeable: just put X powerup in front of the treasures and another hook if you leave the secret place would help to get away this annoying feeling of why did i accidentally pressed to remove the hook...
- heeeey nice design on the cave dragon head! love it
- if you jump over the fire thingies... hm... you can jump without looking at the fireballs. they fly to low to hit you.
- it was difficult to get this item up if the ground was going upstairs
- i sadly had a bug i was not able to go further in after i took the first item back to place... the door should open or? if yes it did not for me... and i was not able to go down again. ( this happens wenn you drag away thi item of it. make the door keep being open whatever you do with the item after it is open.
- the water was unexpected but thats a good thing
- i was not able to move layers if i got something picked up - i belive that can be tweeked. (on the three thingies to place not thrown)
- the rolling fireballs were coming out of nowwhere. hide the emiter in a way like it looks like they fall out of a hole or something. or a source
- the hole at the end of the cave was unfair... sure no danger but meh! not again jumping... lol
- it had no fitting ending in my eyes. show how many treasures you got or a number how many are hidden. just an idea!

the new review:

- heh why do you need to number the blocks? don'T you want your players think a little bit?
- the jump after the gras part was bit long and hard
- ok clever way to die lol... lifting the bot up... hehe! good one!
- hard to get the bot jumping on it. maybe place a tag on the button so the bot jumps automatically?
- the door should stay open... thats way to hard and fun killing i think...
- this thingies from the first level who you need to drag around are way to heavy to get it fast on place
(idea: why not making all the same color and just leting the STRIPES on it decide which one is the right one!)
- after the electro hologramms place a player sensor to activate the checkpoint i forgot to activate it.
- the spikes and wall combo was great! again good one!
- but than i was confused what to do on the in and outwards wall ground plattforms
- make plz a more fitting end for the bot... i liked him! heh
- only when all treasures are taken... not when you take the big one
- interesting twist at the end! (oh btw... why is she not comming? she says we? right? should be you.
- absolut yay for my bot back in the goal
