The Logic Land Chronicles

The Logic Land Chronicles is a level series that I am currently working on. Here are some bullet points of infromation: There will be three standard levels, one final boss level (with a secret playstyle, too!), a versus game, an Introduction movie, and a Conclusion movie. Each level has a boss. The plot takes place in the future. There is a huge city called Logic Land, which is for the best creators. One very good creator, GOBOSOX, ![]() The final boss fight will be completely epic. Since The Logic Land Chronicles takes place in the future, there will be a consistent futuristic theme. The most common material that I use is Neon Bevel, with a couple of different colors of it. I take design inspiration from the Cosmos and Avalonia, since they are futuristic themed to me. I finished the introduction, and I'm around a third of the way through on the first level. Sneak peek screen shots: 1. GOBOSOX http://lbp.me/p/zgcdyc 2. Obsticles that I set up in a level; think Mario Thwomps: http://lbp.me/p/zgcdh0 3. A grabinator section of the level. You have to cover the electricity with the blocks: http://lbp.me/p/znvec- 4. The first boss you face, with a disclosed name and weakness; you have to wait until the level's published for that! http://lbp.me/p/zyet9f | 2011-02-26 23:35:00 Author: Leafy101 ![]() Posts: 154 |
I just got the Playstation Eye, so the levels and cutscenes can now have voice acting!![]() | 2011-02-27 23:20:00 Author: Leafy101 ![]() Posts: 154 |
Yay! Another screenshot! Development is going slowly but the level is coming along very well. It's really hard, so if you want a platforming challenge, you'll like these levels. Does anyone now of any good stickers/decorations from LBP2 only that I could put in my level to make it look more interesting? I can't find any. Also, I've noticed that this thread has 36 views at the moment, so if you're reading this right now, would you mind posting your opinions on the level's looks, the bad guy's costume, the storyline, or any (preferably visual) advice? | 2011-03-01 01:08:00 Author: Leafy101 ![]() Posts: 154 |
Well, you look like a pretty nice-looking stereotypical villain in that picture (I thought that those spikes on your wings were a nice touch), though the scenery looks a bit bland. Maybe it needs a bit more background (or foreground) objects, stickers, or decorations, or maybe you need to use a wider variety of futuristic materials as decoration. I don't know. By the way, Avalonia and The Cosmos aren't the only themes that possess the materials that can be used to give your levels a sense of being futuristic. You could also make usage of the various materials from the Metal Gear Solid level pack (such as VR Grid material), as well as some of the materials found in the Metropolis and Wilderness themes from LBP1. I've even seen some neat materials that could work well in a futuristic setting, such as the circuitboard material from Da Vinci's Hideout, or those tesla coils from Victoria's Laboratory, or even those hamster tubes from the Factory of a Better Tomorrow. Even some of the common objects such as LED lights could work. | 2011-03-01 11:45:00 Author: Shadow Wolf TJC ![]() Posts: 72 |
Thank you! I was looking for things to make my level more interesting, and your suggestions seem perfect. Unfortunately, I can't import my LBP1 file, since it's from my old PS3 that has a broken Blue-Ray player. ![]() | 2011-03-01 12:57:00 Author: Leafy101 ![]() Posts: 154 |
Dang. Do you still have LBP1? | 2011-03-02 12:20:00 Author: Shadow Wolf TJC ![]() Posts: 72 |
Yeah. I might play through it again with a new profile. Do you know of any way to get my old profile into LBP2 without replaying 1? Also, thanks for the advice. I added cool decorations, such as the handheld systems, the lights that are straight and narrow, (I forget what they're called; they're like lazers) and hamster tubes. | 2011-03-02 21:46:00 Author: Leafy101 ![]() Posts: 154 |
Sorry. I've never had to go through that. All my stuff from my LBP1 profile was automatically ported over to my LBP2 profile the moment it was created. Maybe you could try getting some prizes from LBP1 and see if they carry over to your LBP2 profile? | 2011-03-02 23:51:00 Author: Shadow Wolf TJC ![]() Posts: 72 |
"You cannot import objects from LBP profile because it has been copied from another user." The other user was my old PS3. ![]() | 2011-03-02 23:59:00 Author: Leafy101 ![]() Posts: 154 |
Not even content that was collected from LBP's story mode?! Dang. I guess that your best option now is to start a new LBP2 profile. I think that you could back up your old LBP2 profile's levels so that you could transfer them to another LBP2 profile, though you may want to test that out before you delete your current LBP2 profile. You might also be able to use your old PSN account on your new LBP2 profile. | 2011-03-03 00:30:00 Author: Shadow Wolf TJC ![]() Posts: 72 |
You mean LBP1? Yeah, I think I'll do that. | 2011-03-03 00:40:00 Author: Leafy101 ![]() Posts: 154 |
Here's the first boss that you face: http://lbp.me/p/zyet9f It jumps up and tries to squash you. Also, at the peak of its jump, it shoots missles out of its hands. You have to wait until the level is published in order to know what its weakness is, though. Also, I have a question: Should I wait to release all of the levels until they are all done, or should I release each level when I finish it? If you thin that I should release each level as I finish it, then the opening movie and the first level will probaably be released next Sunday. Devolopment will start to slow down, since I will be spending a lot of time playing Pokemon White. ![]() | 2011-03-05 21:24:00 Author: Leafy101 ![]() Posts: 154 |
I would release one at a time and POKEMON WHITE!? Of all the goodness that LBP 1 and 2 have to offer and you're playing Pokemon? Just pickin' a little bit. The pics look pretty good, i'd be interested in seeing the new adjustments after Shadow's suggestions. Let us know when it's published so that we can play it. | 2011-03-05 23:47:00 Author: biorogue ![]() Posts: 8424 |
Thank you! Also, I'm going to still play more LBP than Pokemon, but I like it. There's just something about how cute most of the creatures are that I like ![]() | 2011-03-05 23:53:00 Author: Leafy101 ![]() Posts: 154 |
If the follower is set to not allow up-down movement, it won't move in the y-axis. I would put two movers on the sequencer if I were you- one that moves on the x-axis and one that moves on the y-axis. | 2011-03-08 00:01:00 Author: creator22 ![]() Posts: 162 |
I tried having it allow it, too. Also, I want the thing to follow the player, which is why there is a follower, not multiple Movers. | 2011-03-08 22:01:00 Author: Leafy101 ![]() Posts: 154 |
Hey Leafy. Today, I found out that you CAN import additional items from your LBP1 profile to your LBP2 profile (perhaps even if you've already imported your LBP1 file before). There's this option in LBP2's settings to import content from LBP1, though I haven't tried it yet since I don't have anything that I need to import from LBP1. I'll try it out if and when I decide to download some content for LBP1 (and 2), such as the Marvel Level Pack, or the Incredibles Level Pack. | 2011-03-08 22:44:00 Author: Shadow Wolf TJC ![]() Posts: 72 |
Thanks, but it also only works with a profile from the same user. Anyways, I made a new profile in LBP1, and I have a ton of new items and materials to use in my levels! ![]() | 2011-03-09 13:39:00 Author: Leafy101 ![]() Posts: 154 |
Can anyone help me with the mover problem? It's the only thing preventing me from finishing the level. | 2011-03-10 21:50:00 Author: Leafy101 ![]() Posts: 154 |
This might seem a bit crude, but maybe you could put the follower on an invisible piece of hologram, then attach your creation to the hologram with a stiff piston. | 2011-03-11 01:51:00 Author: Shadow Wolf TJC ![]() Posts: 72 |
Thanks! I'll try that out later today. I hope it works. ![]() | 2011-03-11 12:40:00 Author: Leafy101 ![]() Posts: 154 |
