Solved: Is my PS3 dying now?

| Well whenever I set it to HDMI 1080p, the display goes mad with colourful static blinking and going about on half the screen, and the rest being covered in green pixels. Then when I set it to 720p... it's fine. So, is this a HDMI handshake issue (I have a HDMI switch) or is my PS3 really dying? I'd hate to start on a huge level project and then actually finish it without my PS3 dying in the middle of the finishing touches.</oh witty me> But no seriously, bleh. Time to backup whatever the PS3 lets me I guess Edit: Whoops turns out a hdmi switch + cheapo cables can turn things ugly fast.
