How to keep playing music in edit mode?

Archive: 15 posts

Some of the tracks are so killer I want to keep listening to them even in edit mode! But, as soon as you fly out, of course the music stops...is there a way around this?

Thanks!

I've managed to glitch it a few times so that the music wouldn't stop, but nothing that I know of to keep the song playing. Perhaps put a player that you don't need in walk mode and have them stay near the track, though I'm not sure how well this would work.2011-02-26 19:50:00

Funny you should ask... I was just messing around with this yesterday!

Well, its actually fairly simple. Attach a battery to the music, and don't switch between flying and walking. It should continue to play even if you forward, rewind, pause, or play. If it does stop, just set the battery to zero, and then move it back up to a positive value.

I use a counter set to 1, and hook the output into its reset input, so that you don't need to rewind it before playing it again.

Then I wire it into a randomiser, then into a bunch of different songs.

I use a not switch connected to itself and the track. Then it'll just reset when you switch into hover mode, but otherwise it'll play perfectly.2011-02-26 21:10:00

Lol no no, all you have to do is get a player sensor switch attach it to whatever music you want to be played. Then go edit the sensor switch and set it to inverted now it should play whenever your not around, thus when in hover mode it activates. Hope I helped 2011-02-26 22:03:00

Or you could just make a NOT switch connected to itself...

Or you can place a song anywhere during hover mode, then exit hover mode so that the music will play than rewind and...... there the music will play during hover mode2011-02-27 03:03:00

Is there any way to have it continue playing while switching between walk/hover?
As I switch between them a lot.

what fireblitz said should work. just set the detection radius really small.

it is entirely possible that this will affect the start point of a song when you put the level into play mode after saving. Can anyone test this?

Nah, it stops when you go back into hover mode.

This was real easy in LBP1, just go off hover mode near some music you wanted to play and then hit retry for it to keep playing but sadly it doesn't seem to work like that in LBP2, I'm glad someone has asked this question this will come in quite useful
Thanks for all the info and thanks to the person who asked the question as well

If you like the music, you could always reward the artist by purchasing their music and putting the tracks onto your PS3 so the music player can get to them...2011-02-27 16:37:00
