I'm making an enemy that bounces up, hovers above you, then drops down in an attempt to squash you. I have everything figured out, except that I don't know how to make it hover above you, and not go right next to you. Can this be done with followers?

Just tweak its follower so that it can't move vertically.

Yes, this can be done. When the enemy bounces into the air, activate the follower. The follower needs these settings: Follow Up/Down Movement -> No Follow In/Out Movement -> All up to you Min Range: 0 Max Range: 50 is good enough I think.
