X-Wing space shooter

I am looking to make quality shooters, especially in the 3D genre. This is one of my first attempts and I am looking for feedback to work towards a final product. This is the 2nd level in a 3 level link (intro movie, death star approach, death star trench run)

Played your level and I can see that you must have put quite some work and thinking into it, but in it's current state it's an ok shooter but with too many flaws.

Some suggestions from me, how I think you could improve the level.
Gameplay:
- Make a hologram crosshair to make it predictable for the player, where the shots are going. Maybe you should make the crossheir directly player controlled and have the X-Wing just follow it to create the illusion the player would control the X-Wing directly.
- There is too much stuff going on right from the beginning; you should make it so that as a player you get the chance to get comfortable with the controls and to understand what you are expected to do before all the asteroids and tie fighters.
- I think there were some severe bugs I ran into: My X-Wing was gone, it said mission failed, I somehow collected points but couldn?t do anything until suddenly it said mission completed. Next thing, that happened was that I was directed to something which appeared to be a death star trench run... but I think you need to redo that part... It was totally unclear to me what I was supposed to do... it just said "Stay away from structure!" and I somehow died...

Design-wise I would say that you maybe could do some more detailed models for the X-Wing and the TIE-Fighters. Also make the X-Wing shoot orange lasers and the TIE-Fighters and Death Star green ones.. that?s a must-do, as this is supposed to be a star-wars level (no freedom of choice here)
Also replace the missiles with something that looks like photon torpedoes.
X-Wing was also losing wings one after another. I wasn?t able to figure out if this was intended to simulate damage but at least it appeared to be unintentional.

You should also add some additional lighting, the level appeared quite dark too me.

Overall, it's a very ambitious attempt to make a shooting game with lbp mechanisms, but I think you still need to put a lot of work and debugging into it to make it an enjoyable play.
