Prius_Recycle Rescue

Archive: 15 posts

This is the first time I ever entered a contest in LBP games as I published this level for the LittleBigPrius contest entry. I thought about making it, while I'm a halfway done with "Cybernetic Adventures Beta". In this game, you play as the sackbot of yourself using the creatinator to collect the recyclables and drop them into the recycle box. Not just that, but you also have to watch out for the pollution gas. To destroy it, activate the solar energy by blowing the windmill with L2 and R2. This level is also multiplayer friendly as up to 3 players collect the recycles, while the fourth player can activate the solar energy instead of the first player. Hope this level helps the awareness of our environment and win me a 3DTV or Playstation move. Enjoy my new game.

Very impressive work! Adding the windmill controls gives the challenge just the right complexity. Sometimes it's a little dodgy trying to get the pollutants to fall cleanly into the recycle bin, but there's probably nothing you can do about that and it's not a big deal anyway. Players can get better at it with practice.

I'm surprised this only has 6 plays if it was for a contest. Aren't there judges and whatnot playing it? Anyhow, it's great.

Thanks, Zabel99. Well, at first my LBP2 levels have a slow start, but it suddenly gets huge amount of plays. Hopefully, this level will catch up with my other levels. I recently updated this level with some fixes before more players play it. Thanks for a good feedback.

Hey, I played this today. Nice concept, and put together well. I didn't find any glitches, or probs. One thing you could improve is when you grab something with the ray, and go to swing it over, if you go too fast you lose the junk every time. It would be nice if you could speed up the junk, so it doesn't fall out of the beam. Other then that. Nice level!2011-02-28 01:25:00

Nice little game here.
Totally agree with smasher1973 about the ray.
The extra windmill controls/hazard was a good gameplay addition.

Thanks, Smasher and Midnight_Heist. Well, I'm not sure how to fix that just yet, but everything else is fine. I updated this level with some additions. When your sackbot gets squished for some reason, it'll respawn. Also, I added the hot air balloon to this level, which I'm surprised the Prius level didn't give us that as a prize, so I thought of making my own and add it to the level.

Now that I got very busy days of studying for tests out of the way, I'm back doing F4Fs.

Loved the presentation as the level opened up, I thought the use of the African shield (or whatever it is) as the roof material was very clever. The tutorial was well done and I appreciated that it was informative relative to the environment etc and being able to choose my music is always a plus. The gameplay itself was original but I completely agree with smasher regarding the ray, I lost a lot of bottles by swinging it too fast lol. I loved the day/night cycle and the addition of the windmills added an extra dynamic to spice things up.

Overall I had fun with it and admired the creativity. Hearted and smiley

Without a doubt this is your best creation so far, I love positive creations like this, so I have to give you a big thumbs up on the concept justin.
About the Bottles yeah I agree a little, The thing is, its not really a bad thing, that you should change, but at night, the bottles, batteries etc, they speed up and its kinda hard to be smooth while carrying them, which makes you kinda panic and lose control which would lessen the amazing experience.

But other than that overall, everything was amazing, love this style, It feels really calm and tranquil, The beggining music fits perfectly, but you also added the option to change the music so props on that. Good Tutorial at the begging, I got the instructions right of the bat, you explained everything very well at a good pace, not so fast nor slow.

The scenery was great, especially the sunset, Something I might recomend just thinking out loud, in the sunset section you could add a bit more orange lighting to make it feel like a real sunset and the night, you could maybe add a bit of small stars with Holo.

Finally, I love this level, was really fun, I really got into, did pretty well the first time, I bet if I try it again I can beat your score lol but Great Job man

hi you!
its me again
try out my new level!
it's in my signature "skunk bunny adventures" thank you! (f4f)

now to my review of your level:
cute small level you did there! gameplay worked fine except that i loosed some points cause i moved to fast with my head x)
i have nothing bad to say about the level... it's maybe a bit big to move fast to the other side if it appears on the other side
and i guess it is way longer when you play with a friend right?

good done! *hugs*

i hope this is the last prius game with F4F, XP i'm tired of reading how amazing this special car is just to make points on the judges. hehehe

Thanks for the feedbacks, OCK, Bloo_boy, and Forceswerewolf. I managed to lower the speed of the recyclables and it made a huge difference to this level. The objects are now easier to catch before it hits the ground. Also, I got a word from Dark Match in the level's review that the third player couldn't control the sackbot and I found out why, so I fixed it. I thanked her for that.

Anything else I need to fix before the contest ends this Tuesday?

Sorry for the delay, but I finally got time to look through this for the F4F from The Perky Prius.
I like the concept, but I did have a little trouble with a few things. I played in two player mode btw.

Liked:
Optional tutorial
Current scores view
Music switcher (I almost did that once, but pulled it out. Nice job).
Concept and game-play

Issues:
The only issue I had was with the controls and difficulty. It was hard to figure out how to get the items over to the bin without dropping them.
With 2 players, the speed of the recyclables was a bit too fast and we died pretty quickly both times we played (given, I was playing with my little boy).

Overall, a nice job. Also, you're right about the Eco Adventure - it was very neat. (Although I found two multi-player glitches where my kid got stuck and had to poof).
Hope you can get some more plays. It's been frustrating trying to get any attention on these levels. I know most everyone participating put in a ton of effort.

Thanks, hcwcmatt. Well, I found out one of the problems that may be an issue with multiplayer that the second player's creatinator doesn't fire as much magnetic waves as the first and third player, so I fixed that. I have a better idea that will make multiplayer more friendly. Yeah, I was hoping it goes well when the contest is over. We'll see tomorrow.

EDIT: I just updated the level one more time before the contest ends. The level now features much slower movement of the recyclable stuff for second and third player. There's a few more new stuff added to this level too.

Ok I played it and here is my review.

The level is really nice the use of the controlinator and the way your use it to your advantage is really impressive specially that you dont see that alot in a lot of levels. The visual the level is really good the use of material and sticker are awesome. Some Things that I suggest is to included a menu screen in the level it will be awesome if you can do this. Anyways cool level XD

hmm, so far you've gotten reat feedback, so I don't know what to add... The map was lovable and addictive, you had a great visual theme, I especially liked the background and the sun! you could add more detail to the ground too, mix up with some other green materials too make it look a bit more artistic.

oh, and things drop from the magnet if you swing too hard. The area where you have to run is so big that it's impossible not to swing too fast when trying to gather all the batteries (during night time). So maybe you can either make the magnet stronger, or take a bit of the area away?

Was fun playing, got the third place on my second try
