impact sensor not working

I'm trying to destroy an object with an emitted object. The emitted object has a tag on it and the object I want to destroy has an impact sensor output to a destroyer. The impact sensor is tweaked to include touching and require tag (same tag color that is on my ammo object). It doesn't work. I tried all I can think of but the only way I can make it work is to use a tag sensor instead of an impact sensor. The reason I don't want to use that is the odd shape of the object I want to destroy.2011-02-26 02:32:00

Well nothing i know is buggy about the impact sensor ,but i think i know what your doing wrong. Did you actually put a impact sensor to signal the destroyer. Also the allow touching feature means if it touch something it explode so turn it off. Also if the impact sensor is crushed i mean crushed it won't work. The impact sensor has to still exist it can't give away that last minute response. If that's the case problem solved you welcome. ( I don't know why the impact sensor cant give away that last minute warning like we want it to suck don't it.

So use your tag sensor it work better, or just use a impact sensor that activate the timer that is set to 0.1. Then, let the timer destroy the impact sensor also work a lot better.

I figured it out. I guess I both items have to be in the same layer. I thought that it would work in a different layer if include touching was turned on. Can someone explain what include touching means. I can't see any difference with it on or off.2011-02-26 07:05:00

The impact sensor is known to be very buggy, especially with the include touching option. If set to detect tag and include touching, then technically the sensor shouldn't trigger without touching the tagged object....but it does...sometimes. The impact sensors are actually quite inconsistent and unpredictable in their behaviour.

It's a bug, that still didn't seem to improve when Mm fiddled with the parameters for impact sensors in the last update.
