I just published a very cinematic level. The perfectionists reading this will understand my desire to polish my level eternally before publishing it, but I digress. The level was basically done, but I was tightening the screws and decorating when I came upon some sort of HUD glitch. As published, your HUD works like it normally does: If you get points, your score is shown for a few moments after the new points are added, but then disappears until you get more points or hit L1. Also, your score typically does not display until you obtain points, because there's really no purpose in displaying "you have 0 points." My level seems to have glitched out this basic HUD function, however. If I make ANY edits to this level, the score display becomes persistent. The level will start with a score display of zero in the upper left corner, and that HUD element never goes away unless the player triggers a movie camera with disable controls = yes and the screen goes letterbox. This is just an eyesore, but it's frustrating because I want the ability to improve my level further without this "score wart" persisting up in the corner. This glitch has basically undermined my entire design philosophy! If I make any one edit to this level, the score display glitch will trigger regardless of the edit. I can adjust a camera, move a sticker, create a material, anything. I do any one thing and the score display inherits this glitch. The problem is carried over to backups and copies of the level. Has anybody run into this before, and is there an easy way around it?
