Sackbots Help! Can They Perform Tasks/Think on Their Own?

Im wondering if its possible to have a sackbot do stuff like, say, pick up a ball with a grabinator and shoot it into a hoop. I dont really know what to do besides make it follow the ball, but it wont even pick it up with grabinators equipped. Any suggestions? Is this even Possible?2011-02-25 19:13:00

You can act it out for them. This kind of makes it scripted but it works.

If you want some randomness it would be difficult, but you could make multiple recordings of one action. Say like 20, then use logic to have it randomly select one of those actions.

You can tweak the sackbot behaviour to do many things for example
We have sackbot Elsa
Elsa needs to follow Someone
You can place a tag on that someone and tweak the sackbot settings to follow waypoint and then pick the tag colour, as long as that someone is range of the sackbot's radius awareness then that sackbot will follow that someone
Pickups - You can tweak sackbots to be able to use things such as the creatinator
Danger/Jump Settings, you can change those to make the sackbot jump or not jump be afraid of heights, danger etc
Sackbot actions
When it comes to think like pulling a switch or a dance, the best ways to do this is by setting it to act and recording the action yourself
In my latest level I took this rather extreme in a way and put a sackbot at the edge of a platform, I then recorded the other sackbot smacking the sackbot on the edge of the platform off. Once I recorded that and hooked stuff up to the sackbot behaviours I then lethalised the platform so the sackbot traitor gets smacked to his death lol
You can have many sackbot behaviours on one sackbot and activate them with sensors or even movie camera outputs

You can just Act what you want to them to do.

in my published level, i have a sackbot that is equipped with grabinators that follows a tagged circle of wood, and when a sensor on the bot senses that it is in range of the wood, she switches to another set of logic that includes having her R1 button wired to a battery. this causes her to pick up the wood and carry it around until some other logic activates another set of behaviors and she releases the wood.
