Tribal Wars (Gathering a Team)

I am making a new game called Tribal Wars! Its a strategy game were you manage a tribe. You must farm, mine, and cut tree's to grow your resources. Using resources you can build homes, farms, mine's, ports, etc. The game will have a population resource too. You need population to build certain buildings. To grow population you must have houses, but u need farms and ports so you can obtain food. Food is obtained by farming, or fishing so you need farms and ports. Ports are only allowed by water, but farms can be built anywhere. The prodject will take a long time, and i have not started yet, but i will release demo's after every big feat that i make. Now i need some help from great Artist, and Techies. If you wana help post a comment, i will add you, im recruiting up to 8, so that if someone is off we can continue the work. Do not lie tho, if you not good at building terrain or buildings, or working with logic, then don't sign up. I am going to start in a basic plain, green fields of grass with a moutain to the side and an ocean to the back. I would like for an aritist and one person that can do advanced logic, to start. I will make plenty of diffrent maps once we kick the first map into the open, but it will be aprox. 1-2 months, before the first map is open. The first map will be called..... Plains of Ulatha! I may be able to help out with the resource logic (like we already discussed), though my design may not exactly match what you need it to do. I'll send it over as soon as I create it. Mine should be able to store 20 values, more than enough for you. Nerz i just looked at a few levels you made, and i like your art. I will add you to the list, as scenery builder. Awesome, but don't get your hopes up for a quick release of my level, I'm making some changes (again...) to all my logic, make it much more organized (eg: reduced upgrade system from over 200 parts to about 25 per type). I'll try to finish the resource system tonight. I'll put notes to explain how it works, and how you should adjust the timers to set the right value. Welcome to the team Jedi_Brad, i had a fun time last night, and noticed, that when you put your mind to somthing you get it done. The Grid has been made (Thanks SSTAGG). Starting next section, the building's emiting. (This step will be quick but i need my designers working on the buildings, remeber, don't make it too modern, the furthest you cann age buildings is medevil times. Try to stick to young tribes just starting out style of buildings. Think straw huts, Wooden spike walls, etc. Try to keep it to a basic shape, not to complicated. You can even make foutains, tree's, etc. My new plan Here it is guys, my new idea for the game. This idea (If acomplished) Will make this game x10 easier, and fun. I want to make a hologram menu that keeps track of the buildings you can build etc. I will also try to add a info button that will spawn a hologram window with a note telling about what that object does. I like it, would probably coincide with me producing my own logic display as well, so should work out well. Do you want me to produce the text and stuff for the menus, or have someone else do it and I make all the logic? It's not terribly difficult. We were talking about the resource system, and I thought maybe when you hovered over a resource, like trees, you could have the option to burn it down if you have enough cash? I have a prototype burner that spreads the fire if other trees are in contact with it in the works, but I was wondering if that could come in somehow? Just wondering. Yea i was thinking for the main menu i would have a peacful, small song i have already made playing, with a blurish tint to the background and words infront of it. In the background we would have sackbots and straw huts rising up, the sackbots would be moving around and going about there buisness. I would also like the in game menu for buildings, and econonmy tabs. If we have enough room to add in fighting, i will need a troop higher system, were you have to build certain buildings to make certain things, otherwise the object is locked and unatainable till that building is made, to do this we could use a tag system. I would also need an epic but old style fighting music. I was thinking maybe like a marching beat or somthing from a medevil movie perhaps? Latest Report.... The Vital and Crucial person that was carrying the project has taken to long to produce the much needed resource system, i am scraping the idea, but not intierly. You see i still have the plan for a top down RTS, produced almost like this, but in a more simple fashion. At this time i am begging recruiting for the game me and Jggstl decided to produce in the meantime. Its based on Fallout, infact its the LBP version of a Fallout world, but our own location somewhere near the southern border/coast of the United States. For more info relate to Jggstl's thread.
