would you rather....... corner edit stickers or use the cut-out tool???

it looks like an easy question... the quickest please. but there are those stickers that are like a group of stickers put together but with a gap. like the bullet holes sticker. if my memory serves me there are three bullet holes in one sticker. the cut-out tool cant cope with this. any thoughts???2011-02-25 14:39:00

I think it depends on the situation, and how many stickers you are using to get your effect. I prefer to use the cut-out tool first, then go in and tweak it with the corner edit tool. I have a Star Wars level I made a while back, where I've used a combination of a lot of stickers to represent BG elements of a small city. The sticker cut-out tool simply gave me too many vertices and is a thermo pig, so I now need to go in with the corner edit tool to refine and further edit the shapes. This was the first time I noticed just how problematic the cut-out tool can be if you aren't paying attention, and why I think it depends on the situation. Even still, I'd say corner editing is a good idea once you've used the cut-out tool as it leaves far to big a border around the sticker for my liking.2011-02-25 15:47:00

There is always the option to use the cut out tool and then slightly enlarge the sticker (works best with simpler shapes)2011-02-25 18:52:00

I like the last option, because the cut-out always leave the little edges. With that said the cut out can save time to make a nice sign.2011-02-26 06:28:00

when I want a border around my sitckers or am trying to make a sticker switch cutout, I just use the sticker cutout tool. Other than that, for about 90% of the time, I use the sticker cut out first and then go back to refine it with the corner editor tool.2011-03-01 02:15:00

I just stumbled upon this tool last night (only had lbp2 for 5 days) and think it's the greatest thing since sliced bread. I have spent a lot of time cutting out stickers and corner editing them and what not and to have a tool that basically does it for you. wow. thank you MM2011-03-02 21:27:00

Many of the stickers have a basic outline that are not close to the edges of the stickers. The cut out tool is a great starting spot but to be fully clean using the corner edit is a must. Many sticker do have a tight outline and the cut out tool works great. Another trick I like to do when I do not clean the edges with the corner edit is to make the material neon set to 0% brightness. It makes the outline perfectly black and looks good on many stickers made into objects.2011-03-02 21:37:00

I've never used the tool yet, but I'd probably do what most here have said and use the cut out tool first, then refine it with the corner editor.2011-03-02 21:45:00

well obviously corner editing is a better looking job, but if you want your levels to have that MM feel to them use the cutout tool, notice that Mm lvls have there stickers done like that? its all about opinion.2011-03-04 04:11:00
