Prius_Eco Adventure by rhansen2

Archive: 10 posts

Now, normally I'd be against pimping a level involved in a contest, but this one is just too fantastic. Created as three levels, which get infinitely better as you progress, rhansen2's Eco_Prius Adventure is wonderful! I think he/she did a poor job of promoting, and perhaps should have published this one as new once it was completely finished.

It only has 300 plays to date, which is a shame, since this is easily the level that should win the whole thing. It has the most incredible final boss I'd ever seen. This level needs to be a finalist! The first level is a bit rough, but get past that!

Go play it now!

I think it's already a finalist. They're judging the top ten most hearted right?2011-02-24 23:26:00

I played it, and it's pretty impressive. Wierd - I'd never even heard of that creator before now!
Nice recommendation. I'll keep an eye out for more of his stuff.

Does anyone have any suggestions on improving the first level. I want to make it enjoyable all the way through so I've tried adding a few more moving bits and pieces as well as cleaning up some funky geometry.2011-02-25 04:33:00

Sure.

It has moments where there is too much ground to cover without enough to look at. It's tough to change it at this stage. I would just set your other levels to not be sublevels, since these technically contain beta assets, and thus players may be kicked going through level links. It may be deterring for them to come back to the other ones, and if they don't get to see the second two levels, they really miss out.

Edit: I think I might do a level recording of it this weekend. Did you make a thread here, or anywhere else? And whether or not it is a finalist, which I don't know, I was told about this by the person who had me make the originally level (who works for Sony). He was incredibly impressed, which is a good sign.

There is a thread in Cool Levels and I've been trying to do a crapload of F4F. Alright, I'll just make the other levels non-sublevels and put a key at the end of the first two.2011-02-25 14:33:00

Darnit Jake, stop making levels I can't compete with. But yeah, I played this earlier and it was easily the best level I've seen for the contest, if not one of the best levels out there overall. I made the sideview Prius controllable and was gonna do a whole level where you drive it through a city, but I gave up the instant I saw the one where your car transforms into a flying robot and saves the environment with a giant laser. I think yours is a lot more fun though, and it advertises really well without being obnoxious.2011-02-26 00:56:00
