I need several design ideas

I'm in the process of making a Duck-Hunt-like Versus game, similar to the one you find in the story levels (with ducks, incidentaly), though a bit advanced.
Of all the disc-shaped targets randomly appearing on the screen, the player may only shoot at the ones that are really his. I mean, if there are 2 players, half will have to be shot by Player 1 only, and the other half by Player 2 only. If a player shoots another player's targets, he/she loses points.
The first design I need is this : how to differenciate the players' targets ? Different colours would be too obvious, so I was thinking about something else... but couldn't find anything. If you have an idea, please tell me
The other part of the problem, which justifies the "advanced" adjective, is that players will be able to shoot down collectable bonuses (to be kept, one at a time, and used when the user decides to). But which icons should I use ? Here is a list of bonuses I plan on implementing :

Detonation around the reticle
No loss of points when shooting down opponents' targets
Slow down opponents' reticles
Double points earned
Freeze player's targets


I'm no good with design, please help
