Amazing! Seriously great level you have here. Absolutely THE most fun I've had playing a LBP2 level yet. So let's get to it.. What I liked: - The design was sleek, clean, and humorous. I liked how you incorporated different things form the story mode, especially the negativitron. - Having a choice of music lengthens the replayability. And considering the fact that I just played it 29 times in a row, I'd say that's HIGH replayability. I'll definitely be back for more once someone beats my score. Oh and in case you were wondering, most of the time I pressed triangle 7 times and then would start - Secrets, several of them! It felt like the longer I survived, the more surprises I would find. - The controls seemed perfect. The R2 and L2 buttons felt natural for the bumpers. - I know you worked hard on those lights, and it really paid off. They're not distracting, yet they really add something. - The tracks that the ball would roll along were probably my favorite part. Bravo - A well earned smile and heart from me | 2011-02-23 22:34:00 Author: Powershifter Posts: 668 |
That may be a while Powershifter, your score is huge! 45K I think. Well done! This level is the best pinball level in LBP2 and it fits in with the factory for a better tomorrow theme brilliantly. You can tell how much care has gone into everything in it. Even the detail on that sticker in the middle (Yes people, that's a custom made sticker!) I'm going to keep trying until I can get all of the prizes, but I doubt I'll beat the highscore! | 2011-02-23 22:43:00 Author: Jedi_1993 Posts: 1518 |

There are several good pinball games in LBP2 but this my friend, takes the cake! It feels like a real pinball cabinet. You got the timing perfect and the weight of everything is just fantastic. I love how you themed it to match the story levels. Everything worked great. The negativitron ramp was awesome. I like how it sucks up your ball if you get it close. smile and a heart from me! | 2011-02-24 16:07:00 Author: Aselrahc Posts: 185 |
Looks interesting to say the least. I've queued it and I'll leave feedback! | 2011-02-24 21:03:00 Author: poms Posts: 383 |
Loved this one strangepom Excellent job capturing the real table feel in this one. Loved all the tiny details and there are so many things to aim for! The Negativatron ramp and the long ramp down the left are just brilliant! Can't really find anything to complain about on this one at all Congratulations on an awesome level! | 2011-02-24 21:22:00 Author: Morgana25 Posts: 5983 |

How many posts does a level thread require to get to the LBPC cool pages exactly? ._. I count 7? The rest have a minimum of 2 pages, while other threads in level showcase have more than 7 posts. :/ So it's either a computy gleetch or the requirements have changed? I assume it's not favouritism. EDIT: "@Morgy nothing has changed, I simply posted this onto the cool levels page." You can do that? Some feedback: Every pinball game I have ever played has shown me a visual counter of the opening shot power (most of the time seeing the bouncer thing pull back), why is that not in this one? Plus how about some holo starbursts or something? | 2011-02-24 22:17:00 Author: midnight_heist Posts: 2513 |
When this level started up I was taken aback by just how good the table looked. Played great as well! I liked how you implemented the 3 different cameras, the ball cam is fun to watch. Not sure which level background you were using...but having the little robot in the background on the left was great and really fit with the style of your table. It was quite late, so I only played once but this is a level that's definitely worth coming back too. Levels like this one and Vectroids have really made me rethink the LBP2 as a platform for games thing...these aren't just good or impressive for being made in LBP2, I think they'd hold up on their own, nice job! | 2011-02-24 22:28:00 Author: fullofwin Posts: 1214 |

@Morgy nothing has changed, I simply posted this onto the cool levels page. But if you don't think this level is cool you are welcome to move it..... *waits* EDIT by Morgana25 - I moved it to the showcase but rest assured it will end up in cool levels again. Also the issue that let you post it in cool levels has been fixed by CC. Thanks for letting us know! Currently #2 on LBP.me trending page, Oh Yeah!! http://if.lbp.me/img/ft/86facca8dc76abdb74cc60b8e0c091cf8a350d75.jpg | 2011-02-25 01:25:00 Author: Strangepom Posts: 445 |
Played this yesterday, definitely deserves to be on the cool pages. It is easily the best Pinball game I've played in LBP2 so far. | 2011-02-25 12:06:00 Author: Shinogi Posts: 31 |
Congratulations on the MM pick! I had a feeling about this one. It really is an amazing level | 2011-02-25 17:02:00 Author: Morgana25 Posts: 5983 |
What ^ she said, well deserved. I love how you actually have more than just the basic pinball features, and <3 | 2011-02-25 17:40:00 Author: EinRobot Posts: 739 |
Im going to echo everyone else by sayign that this is the best recreation of pinball i have played in LBP 2 so far! The theme is probably the most impressive thing, as it sets the game apart from all the other pinball levels, as essentially they are the same thing. However, you have gone further than just visual design, and i like how detailed you have been with your little easter eggs and different routes for the ball. The same goes for the depth to which you have taken the interactivity of the lights, which really makes the machine feel realistic. The camera movements are probably the most impressive thing. By adding the option of camera angle you really have gone a step further than everyone else. It really helped to change up the game play for me and i could find my preferred angle. The same with the camera when it follows the ball down the bridges when you are zoomed out, all these little additions make it so much better! The game play is really fluid as well, which is almost the most important aspect a video game version of pinball should have. My ball never got stuck, The flippers and bumpers all worked fine and so did the bonus parts. A couple of things that could be improved in my opinion: First, it would be nice if you had a ball counter, to show how many balls are left, because although it doesn't really matter, i like to know how many lives i have got left - especially if i have been playing for a long time and forgotten which ball i am on. And lastly, I found that when my ball passed round the elevated spinning platform bit in the top left corner, without actually being on it, i still got the points, and the same goes for when the ball passed beneath the drop out point for the negativatron bridge. Just small things but they kind of defeat the purpose of going on them to some extent. Overall it was fantastic and definitely great fun and the best LBP pinball out there! I would be very appreciative if you could check out my mini-game, a competitive cross between Pinball and Basketball (link in my sig), and leave some feedback, as i would be interested to see your opinion on it. | 2011-02-25 17:54:00 Author: Steve Posts: 134 |
Thanks Steve, The 450 points is intentional going either on or below the spinner, as is the 200 points for under the Negitivatron. I still have to fix one issue with the Multiball but apart from that the level is bug free *crosses fingers* I may do some more work with the lighting and add a ball counter. The only reason a ball counter is not included is because I didn't have any decent fonts in my popit. | 2011-02-26 01:16:00 Author: Strangepom Posts: 445 |
Hey, I played this one the other day. I thought it was great! Had a lot of fun in there. Probably the best pinball I've played. (besides mine ) No, seriously. Great work! Grats on the pick! | 2011-02-26 02:03:00 Author: smasher Posts: 641 |
Congrats on the MM pick! I, also, played this and happy faced/hearted it. I'm a HUGE fan of Pinball, and having 2 unique pinball tables on the MM picks is really exciting. My favorite part of this one was the ball switching into the front layer and rolling down the track. Great stuff! | 2011-02-26 02:37:00 Author: CCubbage Posts: 4430 |
Thanks for all the great feedback and thanks Trindall for the video... It'll get posted here when done | 2011-02-28 06:53:00 Author: Strangepom Posts: 445 |

Wow - congrats on the Mm Pick, dude! I played this the other day and was very impressed. Excellent job on the design and execution. It plays as good as it looks. My only gripe would be (and I posted this in my in-game review as well) that when the NEW LIFE multi-ball event occurs, it seems as though the camera tracking is spotty, and when I was back down to one ball I had no camera tracking - just a fixed camera focused on the lower half of the table. Made it difficult to play the rest of that ball. But this is a fairly minor gripe considering the grand fun that the game gave otherwise. I also agree about both the ball counter and a power meter for the plunger. And thanks for the credit! | 2011-02-28 07:11:00 Author: v0rtex Posts: 1878 |
I'm in the process of recording the level for an upload but I needed a break and thought I'd write up some feedback based on my plays so far. Well, you've got a great pinball level here, not just an LBP2 level but a great pinball table with enough out of reach goals to keep the player playing for quite some time. It is also a very accurate and true-to-feel pinball experience and there are a lot of little details, not in the stickering or materials, but in the routes that the ball can take, the actions and sub-actions of different bumpers and bonuses that really give it an authentic feel. Of course there are things I'm missing such as score multpliers and extra balls but as far as the extra ball I may not have gotten a high enough score or jumped through the right hoop just yet. I can go on in more length on the things you, and by extension all those who have helped out in getting the board where it is, have done right but I wanted to touch base on some problems I ran into. (And I have it all recorded so if you want to see a segment I can get the video to you.) Something that happened twice to me was that I was able to hit the ball, from the upper left sub-area, back into the initial ball drop chute and the ball went all the way back to the start plunger. I could get the SFX for pulling the plunger, I got the holo material light up telling me which ball I was on but no plunger action was occurring so the ball was just stuck there. I think getting the ball past whatever barrier tech you use is a rare event but once the ball was stuck the only way to get out was to restart the level. The second problem I had is an even rarer and more unlikely event but one that was frustrating nonetheless. I was having my best run through that was cut short at about 30K and had just unlocked NEW LIFE for the first time. Multi-ball. Great! I've watched this section of the recording a few times and it seems that if a person does not immediately hit the R1 flipper to disrupt the flow as the multi-ball event starts the five balls will take a completely unstoppable beeline to the left exit lane. If the raised NEW section would lower as soon as NEW LIFE is activated then the balls could still remain in play but as it stands the balls bounce off of this and directly into the exit lane. To add insult to injury I had the grace chute open so four of the five balls piled into there and the small bumper at the bottom was not strong enough to push the accumulated weight of the balls out. So the board was stuck with the bumper pitifully pushing the stack of balls up again and again and again until I restarted the level. Anyway, I'll get back to playing the level tomorrow and get a clean, exciting playthrough and post it online. Cheers. Notes: 1: Balls sliding through my fingers 2: Balls bouncing off of NEW structure, nothing I can do as they leave the board. 3: Grace chute full of balls 4: Bumper can only push the pile up this high. Only way to recover is restart level. http://img841.imageshack.us/img841/6834/pinball.gif | 2011-02-28 07:35:00 Author: Trindall Posts: 297 |
Duely noted. I recently changed the bouncyness of the new life structure that is probably why. As you said dropping them sooner would work. | 2011-03-01 02:27:00 Author: Strangepom Posts: 445 |
