Sixaxis Showdown!

Welcome to the popular game show "Sixaxis Showdown (http://lbp.me/v/x6yw9-)"!

You have to use the Sixaxis tilt sensor to move an on-screen cursor and gather point. To successfully gather points, you need to rest your cursor over one of the randomly spawning "Point Spheres" for half a second. You therefore have to be not only fast, but also precise when you tilt the Sixaxis!

The level is set to competitive, so to get the most out of the experience I recommend you play 2-4 players. You can play it alone, but you wont figure on the scoreboard, and the special power-ups will not spawn.

Please go try it out, leave some feedback here or in the comments if you like, and don't forget to look for the hidden cake

It's an interesting level, and quite fun to play.

The design of the level is great. I can tell that a lot of effort and thought went into making everything blend nicely. The lobby area looks fantastic and feels authentic and the actual game looks well polished. I especially like the view of the players sitting in their seats.

My criticisms:

1. The 'Skip Intro?' switch at the start, in the lobby, should perhaps be a two-way switch, allowing the player to switch it both on and off. It's nice to have that option, just in case the player changes their mind.

2. The Intro is very long. I think voice-acting, instead of the default in-game gibberish voices, would help make it more engaging. I found myself wanting to skip it after 30 seconds (but there's no skip option).

3. The game itself is a little jittery. If the movement was smoother, I think I'd enjoy it more.

Other than that, it's a great concept. Great job.

Thanks for the reply man! I really appreciate it

I have been working on this level exclusively for about a month, so I'm happy you like the aesthetics.
Regarding your feedback:

1. The 'Skip Intro?' switch at the start, in the lobby, should perhaps be a two-way switch, allowing the player to switch it both on and off. It's nice to have that option, just in case the player changes their mind.

I quickly figured that the intro would become quite lengthy, so I decided to add this handle hoping it would only be used by players who have already played the level and seen the intro once. It only takes 5.5 seconds after you enter the level before the intro becomes unskip-able, so I figured its either do or don't.
I will consider adding it though, if I can come up with a way that still looks visually appealing to me

2. The Intro is very long. I think voice-acting, instead of the default in-game gibberish voices, would help make it more engaging. I found myself wanting to skip it after 30 seconds (but there's no skip option).
I thought about using my own voice, but since English is not my native language, and the bit-rate of the recordings is terribly low, I decided to go with the old staple "Gibberish" for the talking characters
I did hope that the humor (I think its in there?) of the intro sequence would keep people watching until the end though?

3. The game itself is a little jittery. If the movement was smoother, I think I'd enjoy it more.
The controls are jittery, and that's actually the thing that annoys me the most about the level. In fact the controls are the reason I have been working for more than a month on this one. I have been through about 9 different concepts and revisions trying to nail the responsiveness while still keeping the thermo and framerate hickups low.
This is no easy task! Actually its one thing I have still to see done perfect in LBP2. I think I'm closer than anyone though...
If someone knows a way to translate the tilt of an analogue stick or motion sensor to a position of a cursor on a non-quantized coordinate system, I would be eternally grateful!

Thanks again for the criticism Wayward, I will take this to heart as much as possible!

Cheers!
