PhiphyL's Puzzle

http://i.imgur.com/ciaIm.jpg Alright, here it is ! After something like 50 hours of creation, the last five being a desperate fight against the overheating meter, I've finally completed my first LBP2 level. Plainly put, it's a maze game. You have to find your way through the board and never go back to a tile you've visited before. http://i.imgur.com/VdI9S.jpg There are 13 different boards, but you can only play 5 (randomly chosen) of them per run. This way, the level is shorter and ensures you won't face the same challenge if you restart the level. http://i.imgur.com/Ck4sk.jpg The goal is obviously to score points - you can even get a bonus at the end depending on which levels you played through your run. http://i.imgur.com/kR2hI.jpg Alright, here is what might be glitchy : - Sometimes when you clear a board, you get -10 points per second until the end. I think I've fixed this, but you can never really be sure. - In the level where time goes very fast, you can get stuck and have to restart the level. Haven't seen this in days, but I might have been lucky. (fixed) Here is what should work : - Randomness. If you always face the same boards, please leave a comment. The general order will still be the same though : Level 1 is the same 3*3 board, Level 2 consists of only 3 boards, and so do levels 3, 4 and 5. - Frustration. I've tried to make them difficult, but with enough patience you should pass all my challenges, except board 5-A which rewards a lot of points but is very, very hard. You'll see when you get there. Anyway, you can skip this board by pressing L2+R2 (works only in 5-A). If this combination does nothing, please leave a comment. Please play, comment, etc... and most important of all : enjoy http://i.imgur.com/MMbwB.jpg http://lbp.me/v/x5ybg1 | 2011-02-23 01:02:00 Author: Unknown User |
This is a nice original concept for a puzzler! I did, however, run into that problem where I got stuck on the board where time goes fast (with the "LOLZ"). After four X's, my cursor disappeared and I pressed every button on the controller but to no avail. I didn't realize the boards were randomized. Might go back and try again to see what boards I get.... | 2011-02-28 07:09:00 Author: zabel99 Posts: 179 |
****, this was precisely what I was refering to in the "What might be glitchy" text at the end. I'll go back and fix this asap, thanks for pointing this out EDIT : issue now fixed by adding the possibility to reset when the cursor "dies" | 2011-02-28 21:45:00 Author: Unknown User |
I tried the level again, got the same boards as last time, and ran into the same problem of getting stuck. The new reset option worked a couple times, but on the 3rd time getting stuck I really was stuck for good and again had to quit. | 2011-03-02 17:16:00 Author: zabel99 Posts: 179 |
I just discovered the material tweaker yesterday (somehow forgot about it even though I played the tutorial thouroughly), I'll try to apply it to the cursor to make it indestructible. That should to the trick. Anyway, thanks for letting me know ! | 2011-03-03 07:42:00 Author: Unknown User |
