Sackbot facing Backwards?

Setting a behavior chip to look at tag (with the opposing side tag being on a piece of holo that follows the bot) & a small moment of recording where they walk that direction, and having that behavior chip turned on momentarily by whatever you're doing should do the trick. I had issues getting "look at tag" to work if the tag is in the opposite direction to which you are walking. If you can get that working then awesome, if not, a more convoluted method is to follow tag, with walk speed set to 30% and then use a mover to force the character the other way. The walk animation is wrong - the animation is for walking forwards, but they are moving back. its possible to make the sackbot face backwards when youre holding a sticker/decoration over it (not helpful at all in these cases)... it really saddens me that it isnt an option somewhere in the behavior chip or something. edit: on the other hand, i may have misunderstood the OP completely. | 2011-02-22 22:33:00 Author: Deftmute Posts: 730 |
You can send signals to the virtual sixaxis on a sackbot's controlinator (it's the big circle in the midle of the controller) - in this specific case, you'll have to send a negative signal from your AND (by using a direction combiner, not a NOT gate) to the horizontal axis | 2011-02-22 22:33:00 Author: Shadowheaven Posts: 378 |
Yea, with look-at tag they kind of do an exorcist neck-brace thing and then turn, which can be a good thing or a bad thing, I guess. yeah i have a sackbot looking at paintings in a gallery in my intro level and at first he looked like he was trying to twist his head all the way around to look at them until i tweaked my tag locations. | 2011-02-22 22:42:00 Author: Deftmute Posts: 730 |

Maybe try placing a controllinator on the top side of a 1, 2 or 3 layered object and then rotating it 180 degrees? Then put the sackbot in it an hey, facing backwards. However it will look like the sackbot is sat down... And making the controllinator invisible makes the sackbot/sackboy invisible too...
