End infinite movie camera
Archive: 9 posts
Is there a way to end an infinite movie camera? The hold time is infinite, and I can't find a way to end it(besides setting it to skipable). Any thoughts? | 2011-02-22 02:43:00 Author: SqLeon Posts: 2 |
When you want to end it, trigger another movie camera with a hold time and transition time of 0.0s. | 2011-02-22 02:51:00 Author: Yofig Posts: 288 |
From this post (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=47478-Camera-Conundrums&p=760636&viewfull=1#post760636)... However there's a slightly cleaner workaround. If you create a Sequencer with Positional input, make the board size two spaces, and put the cam on the right side, then when you feed a signal into the sequencer, you can effectively turn on/off that cam in isolation, without having to activate another. | 2011-02-22 15:00:00 Author: Aya042 Posts: 2870 |
Or you could put the cam inside a microchip and just turn off the microchip when you want to end the cam? Same thing, just a little simpler | 2011-02-22 15:06:00 Author: jackofcourse Posts: 1494 |

Same thing, just a little simpler You'd think so, but if you try it, it doesn't actually work. The behaviour of many components changes quite significantly, specifically when they're in Sequencers, e.g. Movie Cams ignore their Transition Times, Magic Mouths allow subtitles, etc. | 2011-02-22 16:23:00 Author: Aya042 Posts: 2870 |
Wtf, you're right, it doesn't work! That is mightily odd. Is this an oversight or you think there's a reason for it? | 2011-02-22 16:51:00 Author: jackofcourse Posts: 1494 |
Is this an oversight or you think there's a reason for it? Tough to say really - I could speculate, but I'd probably be wrong. At the end of the day, they really only needed the stuff to work with the Story Levels, so there's probably all sorts of dodgy hacks in there so they could get the thing released "on time". | 2011-02-22 17:51:00 Author: Aya042 Posts: 2870 |
If you put a controlinator on a chip, and then have the camera on that and set to activate with it, you can turn it on and off using the chip. I've got this set up for controlinator/camera combinations. Don't know if it is a possibility here, but it does work. The sequencer idea sounds like it may be the best way to go. Just thought I'd throw that out there. | 2011-02-22 19:21:00 Author: tdarb Posts: 689 |
Thank you, I went with activating another camera with a transition and hold time of 0, most simple method, works like a charm. | 2011-02-23 05:26:00 Author: SqLeon Posts: 2 |
