All games to have trophies by January '09! Can you believe it's been six months since information on PS3 Trophies were first leaked? Since then there have been many games released that support the feature though there are still, sadly, a few that do not (Fallout 3, we're looking at you). If you're one of the many who didn't enjoy playing the "will they, won't they?!" game for the past six months, you'll be happy to hear that all that will be coming to an end with the close of the year. Starting January 2009 all games will be required by Sony to have Trophy support. This is according to VideoGamer.com who received confirmation from a SCEE representative. We've emailed SCEE to check that this is true. Considering the number of games that released this year with Trophy support (a great deal more than we expected, that's for sure), we'd be surprised to see any games release without the feature starting, well, now to be honest. Hopefully the idea of a "Trophy patch" will soon be a thing of the past.

Well, since it needs about 1 year to develop a game until you can release it, you could say games where you can be 100% sure 'bout trophys will start to be released in january 2010 first. That's the one side, but most of the games that come for the PS3 already have trophys.

I hope they start forcing developers to add the option for custom soundtracks too. Do you know how awesome it would be to play Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix with "You're the Best", "Eye of the Tiger", and other great montage songs blaring in the background?! I trust Capcom will do the right thing here...
