Want to make a RTS game
Archive: 3 posts
so I realy want to make a real time strategy like a game when you put down towers and it shoots enemies what are coming from a emiiter. How to I do this?. Do i need any DLC for the towers to shoot the enemies? Do i make the games floor as a background? and where does sackboy go? | 2011-02-21 13:26:00 Author: super-james12345 Posts: 4 |
From your description I take it you are after a Tower Defense game, not an RTS. To me, it sounds like you are fairly new to non-platform creations in LBP2. I'd recommend to start experimenting with relevant tutorials in the Tutorial forum (http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?127-LBP2-Tutorials); noticeably, the ones about sackbots, controlinators, top-down games, grid movement/placement, cursor control and objects moving along a plotted course (waypoints). Your idea is not easy to realize, so I wouldn't expect instant success. Build individual concepts in separate craters until you feel you have everything you need, logic-wise, to combine them into one mechanic. Everything you need is in the Tutorials forum. Except the patience and dedication; you have to bring that yourself. | 2011-02-21 13:52:00 Author: Antikris Posts: 1340 |
I would reccomend playing the Galactic Base Defence level on the Mm picks, it is a tower defence game and playing it can give you a good idea of how to make one similar. | 2011-02-21 14:01:00 Author: iliketosayblah Posts: 77 |
