Emitter Chains

This seems like it should be simple, but for some reason is giving me a hard time. I've finished all my logic thus far with the exception of one tidbit. What I'm attempting to achieve is a essentially controlled plant growth to create bridges or climb up to otherwise out of reach places. I've got a bit of material for testing purposes with a piece of holo attached which I'm trying to make pivot via remote and emit a segment. That segment is supposed to both shut off control over the beginning piece and create the next segment and so on until it has reached it's limit. Here's the set up so far. Transmitting controlinator and tag inside the sackbot which activates once the down button on the d-pad is pressed. Recieving controlinator on beginning piece of material with joystick rotator activated via tag sensor and deactivated by inverted tag sensor (the activating and deactivating sensors both cover seperate arcs around the object) Emitter wired up to, for testing reasons "R1" set to emit a smaller, similar object logic-wise, with the exception of being sticky. The primary problems are the holo won't rotate and the emitted sticky objects won't... well, stick. Any suggestions? | 2011-02-21 05:26:00 Author: DigiOps Posts: 111 |

Not sure I understand, just attach a small piece of dark matter to it. | 2011-02-21 05:32:00 Author: Krondelo Posts: 136 |
Yes. You know... the sticky option in the material tweaker..? Make objects behave as if they've been glued together in gameplay when the tweaker is activated. I'd prefer to do that instead of letting the plant segments just hover in air. | 2011-02-21 05:39:00 Author: DigiOps Posts: 111 |
My guess with the sticking is that they aren't actually touching enough to trigger a stick, though it'd probably be easier to make them float. | 2011-02-21 07:16:00 Author: Yofig Posts: 288 |
Nevermind, all. I got it working exactly the way I want it. Thanks anyway. | 2011-02-21 07:22:00 Author: DigiOps Posts: 111 |
Sticky is to make them stick to something on its own layer, so It wont stick to anything thick >_<, You could try just making it float, either using the sequencer or just by syncing it, so it plays like beautiful music . Lol hope that helps...but im guessing you want to re-create that growth effect from Eva's levels ey? =P Yeah I see what your doing XD but good luck anyways . | 2011-02-21 07:30:00 Author: Bloo_boy Posts: 1019 |

I can see how you got confused. The thick layer behind the holo wasn't being manipulated by the joystick, only the material tweaker. Like I said, I got it working just fine. | 2011-02-21 07:56:00 Author: DigiOps Posts: 111 |
