Probably some legal mumbo-jumbo. Beat me to it! But yeah, I bet Mm wants it to; but Lucasarts probably people won't allow it 2011-02-21 00:48:00

They would have to secure the rights to it.

The last non lucas arts game to hold a star wars character appearance was Soul Caliber in 2008.

Maybe it's a licensing issue? Could be lots of reasons I guess. Speaking of Star Wars, I went to check out some dev video diaries for Lego Star Wars III, which I thought was being developed by Travelers Tales, but as the video started up I was pretty shocked to see some guy from Lucasarts talking about their new game???

So maybe Lucasarts would require too much of a "hands on" approach to any Star Wars content for LBP? :o

Well, they have had cross-console franchises appear in LBP before (Street Fighter, Assassin's Creed II, MARVEL heroes). And, if DC Universe is any indicator, we might even be seeing Superman and Batman make an appearance in LBP as well. So I wouldn't put Star Wars out of it yet. Oh, and in Playstation Home, there's a LucasArts store, so the studio has done PS3-exclusive stuff.

I'm sure Mm would LOVE to do it; they'd just need to hammer out something with George Lucas...

Wouldn't MM have to pay licensing fees in order to use any Star Wars stuff?
It's not like Star Wars needs any promotion currently, so I wouldn't think them to just offer that up for free or a "small" fee.

Besides that though, I've always figured we'd get dumb stuff from LucasArts, like Jar-Jar, that one annoying kid from the animated version (with the squid hair) and young/ teen Anakin, instead of cool stuff. (Fett, Vader, Hoth Storm Troops.. all that stuff from the originals, basically.)
Since when is Star Wars fan friendly to anyone over the age of 10?

Well..true but then again whats a Stars wars pack without Darth Vader?...I mean...thats like a Mario game without mario. I agree with outlaw jack. I mean we got disney characters so far, I wouldnt be Suprised to see this happened, and im sure MM has thought about this.

Soul Calibur 4 was...a good game, but not as big as LBP, it didnt get it game of the year or anything...It did get best fighting game of 2008 though (I think). But I dont see why Lucas Arts and MM couldnt work this out...

Very true, worrying about Vader is probably too much, his KZ style commercial would sell to everyone. The only thing I think of is that they would do that, but then advertise stuff like Force Unleashed, basically not give some love to people who like the more older Star Wars stuff.
A SW pack to me without someone like Fett (the urge to quote "Fett's Vette" is immense) is painful. But then again, who cares? Vader would probably be worth it alone, certain we'd get a trooper too.

True, but MM knows that if they do make a SW pack, they cant let us star wars fans down. I mean what 13 year old knows star wars these days? lol

The only thing MM would do to satisfy younger audiences is trow in the lightsaber. Cause they'll just think it looks cool.

If they do make SW pack im sure they will trow in all those characters we all love not just vader .

But then again yeah...Licensing etc, but I hope to see it work.

But, whilst people will hopefully enjoy my project, an official pack would clearly be better.

And I saw them all by the time I was like, nine.
Anyway, back on topic. The could treat the SW pack like the Marvel one. Have 6 pascks, one for each movie, maybe? (And of course, they need to be released; 4, 5, 6, 1, 2, 3. )
