Help with hologram sensing

Hello, I made a toy that allows sackboy to do pretty much anything a sackbot can but I ran into a snag I have a paintinator sensor and projectile sensor attached to the hologram (yes, at least one rack thick) that surrounds sackboy but since holograms don't interact with physically it refuses to sense whether it's been hit or not. Normall this wouldn't mean anything but I have a sort of HUD built that relies on these two sensors working. I'd attach a physical object (shrink it so it's invisible) but that causes the toy surrounding sackbot to act funky and when he respawns it might run into certain walls and not come back. Yes I can add a destroyer but just the same the toy acts funky when it hits physical objects. So finally - has anyone figured out a way to make an invisible paint/projectile sensor that won't really interfere with physical things? | 2011-02-20 18:21:00 Author: Unknown User |
You could use impact sensors. If you set them to "Include touching" they react to holograms. Edit: Set it to require tags if you want it to react to certain things only. | 2011-02-20 18:27:00 Author: Syroc Posts: 3193 |
It's weird, I attached it to the large block of hologram that follows sackboy and included rigid connections but it won't go off for the paintinator, haven't tried other projectiles yet - but I can jump and get hit and it just stays on, but if I fly it says its still just on and as soon as I land it adds to the counter it's attached to. It's a simple HUD that detects how many hits it's had up until 10 at which point it kills sackboy and he respawns (also if you hit up a small floating bar shows up and a color coded system shows you how much life you have left) it's a counter that's set to ten which can be increased by either paint or projectiles and can also be reset along with the health display. Like I said it won't budge even if I jump or hit objects but as soon as I fly and land it increases the count... Idk if this method is going to work for a sackbot-less HUD it's also the hologram itself I want to register that it's near or being hit by projectiles | 2011-02-20 18:37:00 Author: Unknown User |
