How do you make holograms flash to the beat of the music?

Archive: 7 posts

I've tried attatching a polystyrene block to two pistons and setting flipper motion to 'out', but the timing was way off. I've also attatched a timer, but it wasn't to the beat of the music. T_T Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

P.S. The music I'm going to choose is 'Ghosts' by Ladytron.
P.S.S. T_T is not a crying face. It's an annoyed face. Don't get the wrong idea.

My best guess would be setting up a timer yourself to the beat of the music... :S2011-02-20 15:28:00

If you have music skillz than you could try to sound out BPM then use some LBP1 logic (cardboard attached with piston with some tags)2011-02-20 15:45:00

I am not familiar with the name of the music track offhand, but I think I would try a sequencer with one battery on it and see if you can't dial in the correct amount of time. Depending on how slow or fast of the beat, you might also have to play with how many segments. Like 2 or 3 might work better than one or something.2011-02-20 15:49:00

Sounds like it's 115bpm, so you'll need to create a pulse (roughly) every 0.52 seconds. You might be able to get close with a Sequencer at 0.1 sec/stripe (which gives an effective resolution of 0.025s), but it may slowly go out of time.

what if you put a single 4/4 measure on a music sequencer, then the rest on another (same BPM) then loop the single short one? 2011-02-20 18:01:00
