Tryed finding a LBP Tips & Tricks section on here but could not find it (If there is mods please move this to their), I thought it may help some of you out in getting a good quality recording. Do you keep geting your breath, wind noises sounds on your recordings? To solve this is very cheap and works very well. If you have seen behind the scenes footage of animated films or in Uncharted 2 Behind The Scenes : ADR you will notice a disc something like this infront of their mics while they record. http://t0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSmC6qHv7pXw3tNr9hgVtiCsrV5lW_Ri yY9DrtJfA-6ai5-dq1n This stops spit your breath and any low level noise which could ruin and destroy you'r tension or mood what you have created in your level. To make something like this you need your Mic http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk46/t2c_big_jay/IMG_0134.jpg and quite litteraly put a cloth (silk works better for me and I got it with my T.V :Lol: ) over it. http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk46/t2c_big_jay/IMG_0135.jpg I have found that you need to leave a gap between the cloth and the mic for the best results and being how the PlayStation Eye is shaped it leaves a space good enough for this to be affective. There are many resources on the Internet that can help you make your own pop filter (that's what the disc is called). I haven't made anything of my own yet, but I do plan on getting my voice out there some time.

No they are pop filters yes they can be used to stop saliva but its not in any way for a hygienic purpose. Pop filters are use to stop the "popping" sound of fast moving air hitting the microphone. There secondary use is to stop saliva as the salt in saliva are corrosive and can damage a microphone.

Yeh, its a pop shield, reduces a bit of low rumble and middley clicks. A couple of pairs of tights and a coathanger probably works too.

While we are on the topic of higher quality voice recording, which mic is better? The buetooth ear piece or the playstation eye? I have both and was wondering if I should ever do some voice overs which would be best also how would I turn the mic on the eye on and off? Is it always on? hmph :/

Is it always on? hmph :/ I recommend trying both and telling us which is best I have a tritton ax pro headset and a PSeye. I've tested both and have had decent results. I'm still undecided on which I like better.

I've found in the past that having the mic next to your mouth, (like alongside your cheek) works pretty good. close enough to get good sound, but out of th eline of fire for breathing wind.. with has been for PC lil mics though, I've never messed with an eyetoy.

It's also very important to record in a quiet location, even the ps3s fan can create unwanted noise. Furthermore if people are having problem with wind (or more likely breathing) then try using an even furrier blanket, this is the technique used by most professionals when filming or recording outside the studio. Also keep the microphone stationary at all times you will notice that the microphone in the picture is actual suspended from the stand to reduce the noise and vibrations transmitted through the floor and other solid parts. Finally remember that you will never get a recording of the quality which mm has without using professional equipment and even then I'm not sure how you could import it into the game. I am curious to know what Mm did and weather they imported their voice clips into the game rather than use the create tools

I can't find out how to turn my Eyetoy mic ON!. I use the official Sony mic or a Giotek one in-game and only use the Eyetoy for taking pictures but when I tried to use it for voice recording to see if it was any better I couldn't find out how to turn it on. The camera is working but not the mic. I can't find the instruction manual because I've had it years and I've tried searching the net for instruction details but can't find anything at all. Any ideas ? On a similar note, I also tried using the bluetooth mic to record from the laptop to make an authentic intro for my new level. The video on the laptop was good quality and sounded great but when I played it back after recording, through the magic mouth it was awful! It kept breaking up, both speech and music sounded ok for the brief moments they played but most of it was missing or just "crackled". Any ideas on this too?

If it's working, then go into LBP2. Once in LBP2, hit start and go to Headset config. Check to see that the input is set correctly. You should be able to test it from there as well. If you've tried all of that and it still doesn't work, I'd try plugging it into a computer. There is a specific driver for the eyetoy that should make it work. A quick google search should help. If it works on your computer then at least you know there's nothing wrong with the eye toy. Other than that - I have no idea! Good luck

Tough to tell whether it's a noise gate (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Noise_gate) or a limiter (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Limiter) on the PS3 side which makes it cut out (or both). If I could just get a line-in somehow, I could probably work around either using a few audio tricks, but I haven't managed to find a way so far.

Yes I just held it up in front of the laptop but not too close. I don't know any other way to do it, I know nothing at all about electronics. I guess I won't be able to do it. I have the opposite problem. I can't find out how to turn my Eyetoy mic ON! Maybe the branding is different in the UK, but the US version of the Eyetoy has no mic. The PS Eye does, but not the Eyetoy. EDIT-nevermind, i'm just a moron that never noticed the mic on his eyetoy.

Thanks. I did try the settings menu but it wasn't even listed! even though it was plugged in and the camera was working. I guess I'll have to try the PC method, although when I googled it before I couldn't find anything at all about setting it up. All the search results were just adverts trying to sell it to me! In the settings it should be listed as a USB Camera. You may have to scroll through your options (there should only be 2 or 3 options). And if it's still not there .. then .. ??? I got nothin! As far as getting it to work on your computer, try following this step by step (http://www.ehow.com/how_5735751_use-playstation-eyetoy-windows.html). It should work.. hopefully

I believe Sony uses an audio filter to cancel out music recordings. Maybe to avoid copywrite infringement with the ps3/LBP. So no matter what the quality of the audio device is used to record with will be very pour. I could be wrong, if so let me know. I was hoping to make my own sound FX and record my own music into a LBP Level but it sounded like crap.
