Digital Calculator (Display & typing interface)
Archive: 3 posts
I just finished to recreate my digital calculator I made back in beta. My motivation was that I didn't see any calculators around that actually had a basic display with back and AC operation, and also with shifting digits back and forth on the display. So I tried to do just that, which took me a lot of time in beta. The calculating logic was pretty easy (bit adders and stuff), but the display logic made my head explode. Of course I added + and - operations, which can be combined in any way: 2-3; (-4)+3; (-1)-(-7) etc. Typing in a unary - operator will show it on the display, typing in any binary operator will turn the display black for a short time and save the number entered before. There's some more information in the level, so take a look if you feel like fancying logic right now I added a few fancy lights and stars, plus a "self-transcribed" piece of music to make it less boring. And because I wanted to be nice, I made the level copyable, so you can take a look at all the wires if you feel like it A screen to close the opening post: http://i0.lbp.me/img/ft/8502c049b1fe3b77fbefbe511e3d0af94cda6541.jpg http://lbp.me/v/x0pj1- | 2011-02-20 03:17:00 Author: Shiwayari Posts: 167 |
Just updated it to V2, thought i'd make a double post, since noone is looking through page 200 or something - Fixed a small bug noone noticed. - New feature: Possibility to reuse the outcome. Should work just like one would expect from a basic real calculator, except that pressing +/- again does not calculate the new outcome. You still have to press = for that. Some input sequence examples: <number>, -, <number>, =, +, <number>, =, -, <number>, =, .. The outcome can even be modified before reusing it (Actually, I was just too lazy to remove that possibility =p): <number> + <number> =, back, <number>, +, <number>, =, .. Some more pictures: http://i3.lbp.me/img/ft/3f3afc9176ef032d7c3c7cff2a2dcd8a0b2e5971.jpg Err pops up if the outcome does not fit on the display (i.e. is longer than 5 digits) http://ia.lbp.me/img/ft/9aaa473f4bfacaa684c07bda0c9ba4e839377360.jpg That the whole logic. Level is still copyable, if you feel like looking into the microchips. | 2011-03-05 20:29:00 Author: Shiwayari Posts: 167 |
