How Do You Get An Enemy Sackbot to Attack You with Projectiles?

I'm making a level where I control a sackbot similar to megeman. I'm trying to create enemies and bosses that recognize my presence, and start firing projectiles at me, and not just at random. Can anyone tell me what to do to accomplish this, including the logic. Any response including photos or examples would be appreciated. Thanks.2011-02-20 02:23:00

Do you want it to shoot projectiles in a recorded pattern, do you want it to sense you and shoot projectiles at you, or do you want it to shoot you with a creatinator? I have a solution for each.
-To make it shoot projectiles in a pattern, first put a controlinator on the sackbot's chip. Make sure it isn't on remote control. Then make a thin, rectangluar, invisible hologram and put a microchip on one end of it. On the chip, put a follower and set it to follow the sackbot. Also put on a joystick rotater and hook the right stick of the controlinator to it. On the other end of the hologram, put an emmiter that shoots your desired projectile. Now hook that emmiter to a button of your choice. If you were controlling the sackbot with remote control, you would be able to aim your projectile with the right stick and use your desired button to fire. However, instead of using remote control, take a sackbot behavior chip and set it to act. Now record the behavior, it should behave as if you were using remote control. When you are finished, make a player sensor that activates the behavior. When you get close, the sackbot will shoot the pattern of projectiles that you recorded.

- To make the sackbot shoot projectiles at your location, make the same hologram you did before, but this time, use a look at rotater instead of a joystick rotater. You also don't need a controlinator. Just attach a player sensor to the emmiter and the sackbot will shoot projectiles at your location when you get close.

-The hologram that follows a sackbot should work pretty well for bosses, but if you want a bunch of projectile-shooting minions, a creatinator would work better, since the followers would get confused if there a bunch of enemies with the same tag. Simply give a sackbot a creatinator and set it to hostile.

lol....Well I think your post was great. So....Thanks. lol. Why didn't I think of that before. I'm going to try this as soon as possible. One thing though. I don't think the followers would get confused if you label the tags right? That's what the labels are for. I think I will try both of your suggestions. Maybe the look at rotators more so for the enemies within the level and the other method for the boss. I really appreciate the response dude. Thanks.2011-02-20 04:02:00
