Emitter problem

Archive: 5 posts

Here's the thing: I created a ship that has a teleport system. By holding square for 3 seconds, the sackboy is ejected from the controllinator, and a controllinator is emitted a little far away in order to teleport the player, just like in many tutorials in the tutorial section. Then, almost immediately, another ship just like the previous one is emitted below the player, making him enter automatically and making it look like a teleport.

After I tested and it worked out fine, I captured the ship and made the emitter emit the ship I just captured. BUT, here's where it gets confusing: after I teleport and then teleport again with the other ship, it will just teleport the sackboy, because the emitter has nothing set to emit. I tried saving it again and again and making re-emit, but it will just be able to teleport a few more times before getting into a ship that won't emit anything.

Do you guys have any idea how to make it teleport how many times I want to? I mean, organize the emitter so it will alway emit a ship that is teleportable.

I know it's a bit confusing, but I'll try to help if you guys still didn't get it.

Thanks anyway

You can nest emitters, but you can't make a looping system; why don't you just put the emitter on a following hologram piece?2011-02-20 08:39:00

I thought about that later, but how can I make any of the ships send a signal to the emitter?2011-02-20 09:44:00

You can make loop but it can easily crash the game.
To make one just use 'Pick Emitted Object' to pick object itself.

I tried to make box select with it but it emitted unlimited amount of objects and game crashed. I haven't touched it since.

By using tags and tag sensors: be sure that they match (if you label them, give them the same color) and the range of the sensor is wide enough
