Twitter Spam - Shameless?
Archive: 4 posts
Beware. Some shameless griping and whinging does exist in this thread. I don't think it outrightly childish of me though, as I am curious about people's feeling regarding something. I have just found myself shamelessly publicising myself to others on Twitter, asking for a play of my new level in the hope that it may generate some sort of feedback or, heaven forbid, a few more plays. I don't think I've been particularly childish about it, just asked nicely for a consideration and should the receiving party disagree, I would bear them no ill will. Especially considering how many requests they must actually get! But shortly after posting my latest request, a thought struck me: is this sort of behaviour just shameless plugging? And, more importantly, is it such a bad thing? I am not referring to people publicising a new level or something they are working on in their own page - that' is, I believe, what Twitter is for, after all. But directly asking other users for a play, no matter how nicely . . . well, to be brief - am I turning into a whiny spamchild? Lord. | 2011-02-19 20:04:00 Author: rialrees Posts: 1015 |
I don't think it's such a bad thing if you have a really great level that deserves a little more traffic, but and it's a little frustrating that @lbpdotme only tweets levels that are already MmPicked or have tons of plays. I've been posting my level to a few PS3 podcasts in hope of getting a mention here and there, but no luck. ): | 2011-02-19 20:19:00 Author: Sack-Jake Posts: 1153 |

I have no problem with people asking people to play their level on twitter, if you want your levels played its something you have to go through. I know a lot of people have also been posting LBP.me links on places like the PS blog. I don't find it irritating after all there are very few places were you can actually get level recognition. F4F on this site is a very good way and having a circle of friends helps but there isn't much you can do. If you want your level to be played by a lot of people I commend anyone to try to get it recognized. | 2011-02-19 20:49:00 Author: robotiod Posts: 2662 |
