Smooth Getaway

Spent a good amount of time on this one and it pays off. So far people seem to be enjoying it, I hope you do too! I have alot of fun just replaying it to be honest lol

Got some fun and original ideas inside. Been keeping up with it constantly since I first published so If you have any problems ( you shoudnt) let me know and I'll get to fixing it. Enjoy!

I played this yesterday. It was decent, but the presentation was a little sloppy.
The first part where you're sliding down the waterfalls seemed to drag on although it was entertaining.
The Sackbots chasing you didn't really work because of that massive drop and the inside of the tree or whatever seemed really expansive with not a whole lot of detail.
Needs more overall polish!

8th wonder of the world
Level was very nice. I really liked it and hearted it. My only suggestion is I ran into some problems with the sleepy owl section. I think I knocked him down before he was supposed to( the contraption that I threw the thing to made it seem like I would knock him over) and it made it kinda difficult to menuever around. Also Maybe adjust the bounce pads, if I didnt walk (can't make it if u jump) on them right it made it s bit frustrating , though again the owl in my way made it even more so. I did finish though. Maybe you could beef up the last boss a bit? I thought I was in for an epic battle then I easily walked to the end without taking damage, though this is something I could work on myself too

At some point those fire sackbots killed me, and waitet at the checfkpoint for me.
Then it was almost impossible to stay alive. I was a little bit tired so i didn't played it again. sorryD:
But, the Level was great.
I liked it. You maybe could use the Grid more in your Level Design, and your level NEED

Alot of good constructive feedback. The music is there and it starts at the one part on purpose, though I agree I could probably add another song in the tree there. As for a storyline I wanted to keep it simple and avoid having the player having to read much. You steal something, its gotta belong to someone. There's consequences! lol. Maybe there's something I could just add in the level description. Either way keep the comments coming. It's a fun level and I intend to make this your Smoothest Getaway lol, so I'm off to continue fine tuning it.2011-02-20 14:49:00

I liked it alot! Cool and fast platforming. Good job!
As mentioned earlier, the next step would maybe be to freshen up the visuals and iron out some bottlenecks here and there.

Hi So i played it and I like it but improvements are to be made.

you can really polish your level off by adding detail to the environments. Give the rooms life, not just a puzzle. Also the part where the balls bounce up and down and you have to pass it to get the creatinator is very tough, even for a veteran like me. I would alter this to make it easier. My favorite part was jumping off the cliff. Hope to play this again when improvements are made!

Edit: Left thorough review ingame. The maze is very difficult if you manage to get 2-3 fire bots blocking the entrance. o.o Wasn't sure if the whole giant waterfall was necessary either. I still enjoyed it and the setting was great

i got a few tipps and things to say about that level:
(please keep in your mind i dont want to be rude with them, just want to say what i thik so you can improve a lot!)

- btw you can shut town the physical sounds of an objekt if i'm not totally wrong with that - that would help you with the glas water - destroyes the illusion of water if it sounds like walking on glas
- the bugs and insects are doing stuff they should not do like flying on the walls x)
- this is little big planet 2 you can do a lot fun stuff with it, the level looked like lbp1 (except for the bounce pads and bots)
- the glas teeter-totter are they supposed to go down from the holder?
- the fire bots are kinda hard to dodge if you activated too much of them
- the fire part was fun like climb up the moving walls with the force going upwards, and the bouncing green ground
- the beginning of your level was a bit long... i mean not in time just the way down and up again... does it need to get 5, 6 or 7 times down the water? and of course the way up - speed it up :3 would help.

besides, fun level, i liked the idea of the fire part a lot. worth to work on a little bit and make it even more awsome!

good level, like the look of it and a great concept

With the bit where you grab the ball and it takes you up, you may want to make it so it only goes down when you let go, and it wont break
but still no major problems great level

AARRGG, I had written several paragraphs of text then some key press caused a page change and I lost it all. I wish the page would restore the text when you return with the browser buttons!!!

I'll write up my comments again sometime later today. I thought the level was fun, but could definitely use some polish.

Gonna play through this, and type comments as I go.

Met by sackbot compantion. I like that. Why is that butterfly flyting backwards? Add a rocket rotator to it and it'll fly forwards.

Sliding down all the glass waterfalls. It would be better if the score bubbles were in groups of five, in an arc, so that if you jump just right you can grab them all for a x2 multiplier.

Making the winch start slow, speed up, then slow down again at the top would make that look a lot more slick if you can figure out the logic for it.

Run! Drama!

I'm beginning to notice that the look of the level could be improved loads with a little bit of attention to detail. At the moment,thing look all squared off, but if you change some of the angles a bit; y'know, make all the straight lines a bit wonky, you could make this look a whole lot better.

Those glass tables aren't glued down. Mebbe put a bolt through the middle so that they rock without falling of their pedastals completely. Just looks untidy as it is.

UP! I liked that. Got to let go just before they stop, so as to maintain momentum. Quite tricky. I nearly ran out of lives, so mebbe an infinite life checkpoint before it? I don't think people are likely to start over when they die unless it's a truly spectacular level; so if you want them to see the whole level, use infinite life checkpoints.

Ok... I don't like this bouncing thing. It's just too random. A couple of the flaming log things are loitering at the entrance to the creatinator pickup alcove and they're not going away! They're going away now... Good. Getting out of the alcove at the back; whay does the step up not go all the way back? Could be improved by restricting the falaming logs to particular areas, so you have to get past them one at a time. And what's the point of the bouncing platforms at the top? Moving on..

Chased by flaming sackbots in a maze! Neat idea, and quite good fun. Could be improved by putting bounce pads on both layers consistently, or by making the maze only one layer deep, as I sometimes found it tricky to get on to the pad. Also, couldn't see the bounce pads on the upper levels because of the camera angle.

Dragon! Sadly, not much challenge in defeating it. Not sure how to fix it, but some sort of skill challenge would be better than having it just fly into a rock and explode.

Not a bad level, and I hope I didn't come off as being too negative. A few tweaks here and there will make it play a bit smoother, but overall it's a good effort.

Nice nice this is what I'm looking for. All great points. As for the table I like that collapsing instead of bolted as it serves as cover to the fire If u duck under, and it adds to the whole fast paced, quickly avoiding danger feel IMO, idk... Also the things at the top are to grab to help you avoid the flaming balls. I've had a few complaints on that area. Im reluctant to restrict them to sections because the randomness is intense, but if your unlucky, too challenging. I enjoy a challeng, but most don't infortunetly. Im don't want to dumb it down even more to get plays, but at the same time the ending sections are intense ad wouldnt way them to be missed. Nice I left a level review on it but I wanted to talk some more. I loved the dragon at the end, everytime you reach a new area of the level theres something new to figure out. The level looks great besides the all fire back ground wall, but its a great level, very entertaining, its brain candy. <3'd

The one song, the johnny cash sounding song played over and over and over, i had it turned almost all the way down but different songs for such a long part of the level would be really great, thats just minor though, its good the way it is. f4f in thread in sig.

I liked the scale of this level. Everything is big and zoomed out. The level is long as well. You may want to work on the plot. Steeling a diamond does not match the scale of the level. Another issue is visibility. There are sections of the maze where I could not see the bouce pads or the enemy sackbots. You need to work on the contrast of objects in the foreground. Don't place a fire ledge or bot infront of a fire wall. They bleed together.2011-02-25 01:31:00

-Ok about the glass sounds...im not sure but maybe a material tweaker might work...id have to go into create mode and check this out to make sure.
-personally i like the bugs, but a few of them look like they are trying to ram themselves into the ground. maybe tweak the track there on or however ur making them move
-i like how instead of just having a wench pull me up, you added a sackbot to "pull me up". those are the kinds of extra details that can really make a level.
-wow what a fall down that waterfall >.< love that u added that piece of land or maybe branch of tree to break apart. very cool.
-change of music was good, here there are alot of ladybugs and a dragon fly that ram themselves to the ground and seem stuck for a few mins. the dragonfly is def stuck it isnt going no where.
-fire part is very cool. climbing up these walls was a really cool idea too.
but i am having a serious time getting up it LOL
i cannot for the life of me get pass that big room, all the balls of fire have gathered on the end im suppose to head towards and ive died like 20 times. i gotta through in the towel.
maybe u could use some string tie those things to where they can only go so farwhen they bounce.

enjoyed your level all in all.
