something breaks

so youve just created some beautiful piece of something and you want to see it moving about.
you hit unpause and something breaks... something in the distance...
now youre looking through every nook and cranny disappearing objects and waving your glue tool like a mad person in search of that little piece thats out of place (or gone).

anyone been here? has anyone developed any strategies for these situations? anyways what are your thoughts on this phenomena?

I'm with you on that one. It seems to happen alot when I move large sections of my level and add another large section in between. I also disprately search for that missing item. When all else fails a THOROUGH play will reveal what disappeared or at least whats not working.2011-02-19 16:42:00

I find the best thing to do it keep it paused, zoom out all the way and look at a section of the level, unpause, and look out for any poofs of smoke, which indicates something is breaking. If it doesn't work the first time, rewind, move onto the next section, and repeat.2011-02-19 16:53:00

Just keep deleting large chunks of the level until you no longer hear the noise, then you know which part it's in.

I use a method similar to aya's, but less extreme - I select large multiple sections of the level (hold R2 + X) and unpause without closing the popit, then I rewind and do the same with more selective areas

Also, DON'T USE DESTROYERS ON SACKBOTS, because you will hear the breaking sound after about 1 second (demitting them works just fine)

When I create I listen to music. I have no LBP sound at all, so no breaking sounds for me to worry about.2011-02-20 03:05:00

Well I usually check for any easily visible breakage, if I have no luck I do a play through and make sure its nothing game breaking or immediately obvious , if not then I just let it go 2011-02-20 07:05:00

How exactly can I demit them?

Move the emitter somewhere so its emit point is outside the game area and activate it - if the "recycle old objects" option is ticked and the you set the "max emitted objects at the same time" as 1, you'll demit it; check rtm223's tutorial (well, now we can ignore the emitter's speed so it's much easier)
