Induced Latency
Archive: 2 posts
I hope I'm using the term right, but whatever I'm referring to is the small amount of time it actually takes logic to compute things. Now, I know this latency is a very very small (<.1 sec's) amount of time. I want to use this to my advantage. I'm creating a device that allows you to charge up a shot, and does so by emitting from a piece of holo material that is moving at whatever speed you charged it up to (holding X moves a timer, timer increases possible speed of holo, releasing X causes holo to move.) What I need is for the emitter to emit less than .1 sec's after the holo begins moving (if the holo is not moving, there is no parent velocity for the emitter to pick up on.) Any help on how to induce latency between these two events would be greatly appreciated. | 2011-02-18 23:40:00 Author: dr_murk ![]() Posts: 239 |
put a NOT gate wired to itself on the holo and hook the emitter into that. I'm not positive about how latency works but it's possible that you'll have to make the NOT gate feed into a counter set to 2 or 3 and wire that to the emitter instead. | 2011-02-18 23:48:00 Author: Speed Racer ![]() Posts: 156 |
