Awesome Ideas for LBP2 DLC!

Archive: 12 posts

I think that these ideas for future DLC should be considered by MM.

-Water, not as a projectile or a solid material, but water were you could pour it or place any amount you want to fill in gaps in the ground, etc.

-More Music Sequencer instruments. I know there is alot already, but more would be awesome. That way music in levels will be much more than synths, drums and piano.

-Jak and Daxter; I know that these costumes arent going to come out ever unless you got the US collectors edition so that's why i ask if MM could make downloadable in PSstore later on.

Please post and share your ideas for future Download Content (DLC)

Errr... If Jak and Daxter are a C.E. exclusive, shouldn't they stay that way? I don't want to sound selfish, because I'm not, but that particular costume pack was advertised as exclusive... Not saying I could ever have any say in that matter, seeing as Sony can do what they please, but I'm just giving my honest opinion, and I sincerely apologize if I offend anyone!2011-02-18 02:29:00

I'm all for more instruments... but water... pourable water.. is a ***** to program. Huge CPU hit. I'd rather see a water material. Heck, gas is kind of an object.

Wouldn't it be nice to be able to make a BLOCK of water? It might not pour, but if you has a controllable form of water like that, you could do something as simple as having a dry underwater cave, or an above ground pool.

If you could make a pater object.. a circle perhaps, you could use an emitter to puke a bunch out to make a pretty convincing 'pour' effect. It could lead to a lot of cool stuff.. tweakable water chunks? Zero G water blocks.. ovals with wavy borders like gas would be fun... heck, let's tweak water to affect drowning time... no downing, to 0.1 seconds, to 4934969326902362360237636 seconds.

I say that they should have real Portal 2 stuff. No offence to those that are making their own Portal levels/games, but official, working Portal gun/turret/cake/GLaDOS/other stuff would be the coolest thing I could think of.
And, hey. Why not make some DLC for Portal2 to where you could play as sackboy? You know, cross-promotion? That would be EPIC.

A function in Music Sequencer which loads Midi Files from the Hard Drive
Srsly making Music with LBP2-Music Sequencer is way harder than on PC.

@Super_Clone, it's likely that the CE DLC will be re-released on the store because 1) C'mon, it's Sony we're talking about. You know they like money (no offence any sony guys reading this!) 2) both the muppets and Toy Story DLC do not feature the main character of their IPs (Toy Story's being Woody/Buzz, and i'm not too familiar with muppets, but I always assumed Kermit was the main character)

@Super_Dork_42 Portal 2 stuff would be awesome. Complete with the 'Still alive' song, Chell costume, maybe the two cooperative robots as costumes, plus a Glados hat, a Companion cube hat and a Cake hat LOLJK the cake is a lie.

@freeaim /whoever else asked it. There are bound to be many of these kind of threads. Instead of whining about it, why don't you re-direct to a more popular one or suggest to a mod to merge this with another one?

I personally think a 'WaterMatter' material (floats like dark matter, reacts like the water does at the moment, and can be tweaked to have particles/waves/colour like the normal water does) would be awesome, and hopefully do able.

Yea, sorry for the confusion, Matimoo! By the CE exclusive DLC, all I meant was the Jak and Daxter stuff, because, as far as I know, that those are the only costumes listed as CE exclusive. And, to stay on topic, I would be nice if we could have numerous colors of water in the level!2011-02-18 22:52:00

They should make more instruments, like an actual distorted guitar sound. They should also make a navigator/Waypoint creator, meaning you attach it to an object and then set waypoints for that object to follow. Just a thought.2011-02-19 18:31:00

1.I think Windows' emulated Instruments were great.

2.you can already do that.
Use the Follower with Tags.
And then turn every Tag off only the one which is the next Waypoint is turned on.
(If you didn't know, you can turn Tags on/off.

In regards to CE DLC, if it ever did come out they could just make it cost more than most regular DLC costumes so as to give a bit of fairness to those who bought the CE. For example lets say a DLC costume is normally ?3, any CE DLC costumes could be ?5. Seems pretty reasonable to me. And before anyone wonders, I don't own a CE pack, so it's not like I'm not going to be one of those people who would have to pay the slightly higher price if I so wished. 2011-02-19 19:07:00

Yes, i agree. they should make it so you have to pay more, not make it entirely exclusive. i have the uk version so thats why i posted that.
