Captured object coming apart
Archive: 4 posts
I've got a complex object with various parts glued to it, bolts, controllinator, a rather busy microchip, etc. I can move the object around and test it extensively and everything seems to work fine. I capture the object, making sure to capture all of it, then paste it in the level. Upon pasting it, strangely, one of the parts is apparently no longer attached! If I move the object, the part that is no longer attached doesn't move with it. However, if I resize the object, the part that is no longer attached does get resized as well. What could be going on here? | 2011-02-17 23:23:00 Author: zabel99 Posts: 179 |
Could possibly be a bug, might be worth reporting it?! I've never had this problem with capturing and spawning a complex object, but then I'm guessing that maybe your object is more complex. Yeah... I'd report it! | 2011-02-18 03:35:00 Author: Unknown User |
This has happened to me before! But it only happened prior to actually placing it (where it shows a hollow-ish outline of the object before you physically place it in your level). However, I found that if I just placed the object first and then moved/manipulated it, it worked as normal and nothing came apart. | 2011-02-18 03:51:00 Author: bloomchild Posts: 74 |
Hey, you're right. It appears to be a mostly visual glitch. However, there is another problem I am encountering that may or may not be related to it. This object is to be emitted by an emitter. I am certain that I've set the emitter to place the object in the frontmost layer. But the object gets emitted on a different layer, which is baffling. | 2011-02-18 12:29:00 Author: zabel99 Posts: 179 |
