[Beta][1p game] Lockpick's Maze
Archive: 14 posts
Lockpick's Maze will be my 3th Beta-imported level, At the moment there is a slight problem at the end of the level, but holding down l1,l2,r1,r2 for 4 seconds will still get you to the scoreboard. (I will fix this tonight). Just played it, absolutely loved it. Lockpick has a lot of charm about him, and the entire level was so innovative with rotating it to move him instead of the usual way other levels are played. I liked how each area of the maze was divided into areas each with their own obstacles to overcome, and although there was a few bugs coming through from the Beta, the level overall was still excellent both visually and gameplay wise. The stats thing for each area at the end was a nice touch on how you did in each area, and it was satisfying to get out of the maze after so many wicked challenges. I loved this in the BETA! Took a fair few tries though since I had to keep on coming offline to do stuff when I started it.... I love the concept for this level, instead of having you jump around a circular maze, you turn the maze yourself. I think it's more interesting when you fall too, since you can't properly manoeuvre yourself in the air. But all the merrier. If I remember correctly, wasn't there green things all around the maze that give you points when you grab them? That's a nice touch. Amazing game, enthralling stuff. | 2011-02-17 21:29:00 Author: mutant_red_peas Posts: 516 |

Well thats not entirely true, the maze rotates at such a speed, jumping just before you stop rotating the maze can get you somewhere between 1 and 15 big grids far, I actually use that to get some insane speed on certain locations! also when you fall, you can still rotate the maze, can result in easy deaths.. but if done right.. you can skip small parts of the level | 2011-02-18 11:16:00 Author: Luos_83 Posts: 2136 |
Yessssssss!!!!!! I can hug you right now. I never got to beat this lvl 'cause of something always happening in real life before I could finish it . Love the concept of the level and is one of my alltime fave levels. Will be playing asap. Thanks for bringing this back | 2011-02-18 12:04:00 Author: L1GhTmArE Posts: 519 |
No problem at all, Im glad people really like it. That said, eventually I will remove all the beta levels on my profile. mostly because I need all my slots for a game that takes up about 10 level slots. | 2011-02-21 18:59:00 Author: Luos_83 Posts: 2136 |
This is great, I really enjoyed it in the beta! Just curious... I've been seeing a lot of the exclamation icons in levels lately (in the movie at 2:26). What does it mean? | 2011-02-21 20:03:00 Author: Chazprime Posts: 587 |
Was indeed my favorite level from the beta and the most innovative level I think I've ever played to this day. You honestly make me feel bad about myself... | 2011-02-21 21:37:00 Author: piggabling Posts: 2979 |

Very rewarding level. I hope you or C-Mac will make another 1 day. Its the best puzzle platformer I played to date so far on LBP. Cant wait for your future series. | 2011-02-21 22:46:00 Author: L1GhTmArE Posts: 519 |
Just curious... I've been seeing a lot of the exclamation icons in levels lately (in the movie at 2:26). What does it mean? Oh, MM thought it would be smart to change objects/lights that are heavy on the engine into "!" marks when it has a hard time rendering everything at once, which imho is bogus because the level worked perfectly before they added that. (its like a luos-overdetailed-prevention-tool) I might make a new lockpicks maze in the future.. not sure.. got so many plans.. so little time.. | 2011-03-01 12:08:00 Author: Luos_83 Posts: 2136 |
is it me or the room where u move that red graby thing around the outside is messed up, its doesnt open the next area around the electric cogs. whack yup i use the hint to double check and yea, the new door didnt open so i couldnt finish. o well, sweet level anyway | 2011-03-24 23:12:00 Author: DarkSeraphim666 Posts: 96 |
it is not messed up and works perfect each time as far as I know, we tested it with more than 15 people over 150 times back in the beta and it never failed for anybody. thanks for playing though! (and the only bug atm is something at the end of the whole level, something I cant fix because the moment I even touch the chip that controls the camera, I crash back to pod no matter what I try) | 2011-03-26 14:29:00 Author: Luos_83 Posts: 2136 |
