How to Make Projectiles Destroy Enemies on Impact?

Archive: 8 posts

Hey guys, I was wondering if I could get some help with a little problem I've been having.

Basically, I have a Controlinator with a Emitter hooked up, which fires wooden mallets. I can't for the life of me figure out how to destroy the enemies the mallets hit. I've tried a Destroyer and an Impact Sensor, but I can't make anything work. Even Google doesn't want to help me.

I'd really appreciate your help!

I like the sound of this idea.

Just give the mallets a unique tag. Either just a color or a text label as well, and just put an impact sensor on the enemies that requires the same tag. And just hook up the impact sensor to the destroyer.

Impact sensor's settings might depend on what your enemies are like. If they are made of hologram you need to include touching, if they are in multiple pieces you might want to use include rigid connections.

How many mallets do you want to hit before the enemy gets destroyed?2011-02-17 18:37:00

@Foofles: Thanks! That sounds straightforward. But where do I put the Destroyer? My mind is mush right now.

@Chicago51: Just once. It's a fast-paced versus level.

Just put a microchip on the enemy. Put an impact sensor and a destroyer on the MC. Connect the impact sensor to the input of the destroyer. Set put to Include Rigid Connections : On.

That should do it. I've just done it if you want to join up and take a look.

Thanks a lot, mate. Sounds easy enough. I'll give that a go in the morning. 2011-02-17 23:10:00

The projectile sensor only recognizes those four built-in projectiles, which makes it rather limited in use, huh?2011-02-17 23:30:00

yeah as far as I can tell the projectile sensor is just a lame version of the impact sensor.2011-02-17 23:34:00
