Control Area?
Archive: 3 posts
Hi, any help would be a massive boost, I'm making a kind of... Well, Hockey game, I need the Goalie to stay in his area and not be able to stray much further from the area. It's a top down kind of affair, and the "players" are controlled by a DCS. I'm guessing I'll have to use Tags and Tag Switches, I just need help with how to configure them. Thanks in advance for any help. I've decided to edit rather than make a new post as it's part of the same level. I've turned the anti-gravity to 100% in the level settings, and also placed gravity chips to the "players" and set them to their lowest setting so then why are the "players" still dropping instead of just floating where they are left? I can't increase the dampening any more as the "player" no longer moves! I have a part connected to the main body of the "player" with pistons and they have no gravity chip on them, would this cause them to drop? Thanks X2!! | 2011-02-17 15:14:00 Author: Unknown User |
Is the goalie controlled by DCS as well? If so, three pieces of invisible holo to make up your "crease" should suffice; the pieces would be arranged in a "half-hexagon" formation, and each one would have a differently named tag on it. The goalie would have inverted impact sensors (include touching) on its microchip, set to require tag -- one each for the tagged parts of the crease. Then, you can just split your goalie's analogue signals for moving, and pair the appropriate directions with your impact sensors using AND gates (or circuit nodes in microchips turned on by the sensors), so that the goalie is only receiving a "forward" mover signal when he is not touching the piece of holo labeled "forward" or whatever. Does this make sense? I can do diagrams if you like. If the goalie is not controlled by DCS, the same technique could still be applied to its AI. | 2011-02-17 15:40:00 Author: jdteather314 Posts: 74 |

I was kind of thinking along the same lines, but I guess I just didn't know the finer points that you brought up with Invisi-holo material to make it work! Someone needs a course in logic! lol Thanks for that! | 2011-02-17 15:50:00 Author: Unknown User |
